OK, so I bought this car a couple of months ago as a temporary car due to my Saab having issues. I needed something big, reliable and comfy as I had a funeral to go to, with a 500 mile round trip in 1 day planned the day after driving it 200 miles home from the guy I bought it off. It performed faultlessly, and was such a comfy ride!
Anyway, I`m only selling as, although the Saab is still not back on the road, I need a 4x4 for towing, and have just picked up a Trooper, so space is needed.
Here are the important bits;
MOT November. Covered just over 200 miles since the last one, most of which were done by myself.
Incredible VOLVO service record, with 19 dealer stamps in the book, and an A4 folder full of service invoices and receipts. It`s safe to say, this was a pampered car, and only ever taken to main dealers for anything it needed, including bulbs and wipers etc etc.
Only 3 previous owners.
No towbar
3.0 straight 6 24v engine with 4 speed auto. Great combination, great performance, great comfort. Gearbox works as it should in all 3 modes. MPG.....who knows!
Good quality tyres, matching across the axles. If memory serves me correctly, Pirelli on the front and Continental on the rear.
Bodywork is way above average. I am in the process of painting both front and rear bumpers as these were scuffed. These will be done for the new owner. Other than that, there's a small 50p size ding in the N/S rear wheel arch, which is barely visible.
Half leather/Alcantara interior, all good order.
What needs to be done?
It`s low on the rear end, so will need rear shocks soon. It`s currently on Nivomats, which aren`t cheap to replace. However, normal shocks can be put on with a thicker leag spring going from wheel to wheel.
It`ll need front discs before the next MOT
Drivers rear door handle doesn`t open from the outside
Drivers fog light is cracked.
Being ultra picky here......ignition switch is a little worn. On occasion, once the car is started, you need to move it about 1mm back for the electric windows etc to work. Heated seats appear now to work, and electric seats are temporamental.
That`s about it. All in all, it`s a huge cruiser, which is actually great fun to drive, sounds great and embarrasses a lot of newer, "hot hatch" type cars on the roads.
The price is £695. I know the value of good examples, so this is very cheap. I was planning on rectifying all the above mentioned niggles (non of which stop the car being driven, which I do daily) and then advertise for £2000+. But, I need the space now!
I`d happily drive this car anywhere, and would deliver anywhere for the cost of fuel and rain fare home.
I`ve no pictures as yet.....but look up a 1998 V90 on google, and mine`s the purple colour!
Any questions, fire away.
