NOW REDUCED AND STILL FOR SALE DUE TO MESSER
For Sale
1995 VW Passat GL Saloon (B4)
For sale is my 1995 B4 Volkswagen Passat GL Saloon. When did you last see a saloon? It seems only the wagons (estates) have survived but here is an absolutely brilliant and low mileage example. Probably one of the best left.
67,000 miles from new. Fully stamped VW service book, with every MOT from new and every single piece of paper. The history file and paperwork that comes with this car is incredible. So much so, it even has the original sales brochures and VW price lists! This is a very well maintained and looked after example. Completely solid, and never welded. Only 3 former keepers. (most recently my friend who never drove it. It sat on his driveway until I bought it, so really this vehicle has had only two long term keepers before me.)
I have owned this since January and this car drives like it’s brand new. Engine and gearbox is smooth and tight, there are no knocks, no bangs, and no smoke. There are no advisories on the MOT. MOT until January 2018!!!!
The fuel economy on this car is incredible! I have got 650+ miles from one tank of diesel.
Has a towbar fitted with electrics. Nice period blue interior, which is all nice and clean. I have the V5 in my name, both sets of keys and all manuals and paperwork.
4 great tyres!
FULL VW service history from new, with the booked stamped as follows, including two cambelt changes in its life;
16/07/1996 – 9,136 miles
23/07/1997 – 12,051 miles
19/08/1998 – 15,106 miles
04/08/1999 – 18,063 miles
28/07/2000 – 20,879 miles
22/08/2002 – 28,968 miles
05/08/2003 – 33,478 miles (+ 1st cambelt change)
11/08/2004 – 37,716 miles
09/08/2005 – 42,089 miles
17/08/2006 – 47,344 miles
09/08/2007 – 50,805 miles
22/08/2008 – 54,326 miles
18/08/2009 – 56,973 miles
13/08/2010 – 58,541 miles (+ 2nd cambelt change)
12/08/2011 – 60,249 miles
14/08/2012 – 61,589 miles
12/01/2017 – 62,657 miles (home service to re-commission car)
Recent work done in my ownership;
Oil change
New oil filter
New wipers
New battery
New oil pressure sensor.
There are some small jobs required;
The power steering pump squeaks when you turn the steering wheel when stationary. This has never bothered me, as the power steering works fully ok when driving. It will need a new power steering pump at some point, but I have seen these new on eBay between £40-70.
The headlining has started to sag in places so will need to be glued back in place.
The car has a couple of imperfections as would be expected for a 22 year old car, and there is also a small scrape on O/S rear bumper and light scratches on O/S rear wheel arch, small dent to rear N/S wing.
Needs new drivers window regulator.
Despite the minor jobs required this is still a very excellent and well above average example, and I guarantee you will NOT find another like this, with this history and mileage.
This will be a future classic, and will only appreciate in value. You could park this away as an investment or you can use it straight away as a very reliable and cool retro daily.
**Note** This car has the VW factory 1Z 1.9 TDi engine fitted. These engines are used in common conversions in VW Transporter T4’s. When did you ever see a T4 with 66,000 miles on an engine? This engine could be transplanted into a T4 with a small amount of work if that is your desire. I am not selling the engine separately; you will need to purchase the entire car.
No more timewasters, tyre kickers and dreamers.
Silly offers will be ignored, as I am too busy to mess around. First to see will buy. Serious buyers will text or ring.
I have just bought a people carrier as I need a bigger car hence the genuine reason for sale, that and the missus doesn’t appreciate retro cars. Will be sad to see this go.
Any test drive more than welcome, you will not be disappointed. You WILL bring your driving licence and proof of insurance, which will be checked against the motor insurance database prior to driving the car. I do not care how far you have travelled to view the car, no proof of insurance means NO test drive.
Car is in Weymouth, Dorset.
NOW REDUCED AS I NEED IT GONE
£800 or nearest offer. Priced realistically due to minor jobs that need to be done. Best to text or phone.
