Stunning, original 1992 Mk1 Renault Clio 1.4 RT 5 Speed Manual
First registered August 1992 and owned/garaged by the previous owner from new
Top of the range RT model with electric front windows, central locking, manual sunroof and fog lamps
Renault Phillips 4 x 6w radio cassette with audio remote (which I need to refit on purchase, 10 min job)
The bodywork is in amazing condition - but not without the minor imperfection - no rust and it has hade no welding
The interior is complete and in excellent condition although if you want to be OCD about it, proper clean/valet wouldn't go amiss to make it shine, and 2. there's a little nick in the dashboard plastic - something of nothing. To be clear, it isn't dirty or smelly or covered in dogs hairs - I would be surprised if the rear seats had been used before my girls sat in them.
Current documented mileage 52,450, which will rise with daily use
Fully stamped service book - 16 stamps in total
May 1993 6.000 miles
June 1994 12.220 miles
July 1995 17.509 miles
July 1997 23.678 miles
May 1998 30.017 miles
Jan 1999 36.115 miles
March 2001 40.547 miles
July 2002 42.074 miles
June 2004 42.672 miles
July 2005 43.641 miles
July 2006 44.409 miles
July 2007 45.386 miles
July 2009 47.579 miles
April 2011 mileage not recorded
July 2012 49.050 miles
July 2016 50.856 miles
All the original owners handbooks etc
Last recorded service July 2016 1.500 miles ago £639.79 which included new front suspension shock absorbers, rear wheel cylinder, anti-roll bar drop link, oil and filter etc. I had thought to service it but the oil was golden - this needs driving, not more servicing.
Since purchasing I have covered over 1500 trouble-free miles (what the previous owner took over 4 years to cover), and it's getting better the more I drive it. It's fun on A/B roads, will happily cruise at 70mph on the motorway and sips petrol. This is very economical to use.
I have driven to Bournemouth and back in a day...a total of 7 hours driving on one of our hotter days and it didn't miss a beat.
There was a knock coming from the front which I thought was an anti-roll link or something but on Thursday (8th June) I got it on the ramp at my local garage and it was just a misaligned exhaust (quality BOSAL system) which was knocking on an engine mount. Adjusted and fixed. All the suspension linkages/bushings etc are fine, either recently replaced or in fine condition and the front suspension units were replaced 1500 miles ago.
I also asked my garage to check the brakes which have been a little grindy but all good - nearly new pads and the rotors are fine. Underneath is sound as a pound with just a little surface rust to be expected. The general comment from the garage - 'this (car) has been well looked after - no expense spared'
Why am I selling? I think I'm going to ruin it's condition as I need a daily driver that's going to rack up some miles. If I had a garage and could afford two cars I would keep it.
So there you have it, a lovely early top-of-the-range Clio in a very attractive colour - green in the log book - but a light silvery green
I'm sure I will have missed something - I know more about bikes than cars - if you have any questions I'll try and answer them if they are not too technical
