Thanks Max, remember... There's one behind the bar for you when you want it Okay, so back to Monday. After the maxn meatfest/Dub show/classic Japanese/c&c weekend spectacular I decided to throw the towel in... I'd had enough, but luckily I missed the campground pool and the towel landed on a recliner, so I soaked up some sun Tuesday brought an early start to head 180miles north from San Diego to Ventura county, where I spent some time looking at this... Hyabusa powered, all carbon body and absolutely curse word*ng gorgeous... So there we were when the owner of the building appeared, and bluntly told us to get out of there... He then reappeared through a side door and told us to come see what we'd missed out on Which was this little lot. The guy runs a company supplying props and trailers to film crews, he's an old time drag racer and a man of impeccable taste. Everything was just dripping with cool, the little trolly things worked and he even let me ride around on 'em... Saweet. The building is an old fruit packing plant, with full size basement where they used to ripen the stuff off... Hardwood floor throughout, I want it. It's for sale. I am in pain. Got the Goat for you Norm, where d'ya want it ;D He restores the trailers and the interiors although looking original, hide modern appliances, plasma screen tvs and all sorts of goodies... Legend. Then down south again for this... SR20 powered with a 240SX dash conversion. 508bhp at the rear wheels... Kick ass. So here I am, back in LA, kicking around thinking it was time I headed east... Sea to shining sea, stick a fork in me I'm done, time to move on. But wait a minute, is that Redondo Beach in the distance? Yes it is... And that's the Portofino Inn right there, with the finish line to the Cannon Ball Sea to Shining Sea finish line right outside it ;D Never one for convention, I figure I'll do it my way. So here it begins, and now the G20 is coming back to England it means I've got to ship it from NYC... So the Red Ball Parking garage (or whatever is there now) on 31st in Manhatten is going to get a visit too. I'm not aiming for the 32hr17min record... But damn I'm watching the clock. Life's too short... Although this weekend is the Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso (hmm Cacklefest) and the NHRA museum, and Pomona swapmeet too. Hmm, I see delays ahead... DETOUR

The Honda is without doubt one of the coolest cars to have ever been built.
Any chance you could pick me up the next issue of Lowrider, Bryn? I've just got the one with the black Tri Chevy on the cover, if there's a new one I would LOVE to have a copy!!!

anything happeniin' in the west of US this lunchtime? Missed lunch... 'Cos I was driving The weekend turned into a wrecking yard/hot rod reunion/driving fest. Met up with Kev Elliot, ex-Custom Car, and proceeded to drink ample amounts of Corona and meet some excellent people. Along with a lot of very well known names, it seems most of the Originals and the Executioners were there too. It was like little Britain. Partied (read talked cars) until three thirty Sunday morning at a kiwi guy called Squeaks rod shop in Bakersfield... Then started out east. I'm in Kansas now, 1400miles down, 1000 to go until Ohio. Will throw a load of pics up when I can... Here's a taster. Just something you see everyday in So-Cal

East Bound and Down - I guess that you di not crack the record yet ? 2308 miles in... Four days. Hmm, taken it quite easy to be honest... But still pretty pleased with progress. But it's currently 2am, I'm sat in a wet campsite in Indiana and I've messed my bodyclock so badly by driving, sleeping, eating, driving, eating, driving, sleeping. I'm now awake. Staying put for a week from Saturday though, so will post some pics of the Hot Rod Reunion etc. Come sweet slumber enshroud me with thy cloak of darkness. An ode for a proper bed, somewhere warm and soft to lay my head, not harsh and cold, made by Chevrolet and thirteen years old... Blimey, I really do need some kippola.

Grabbed some sleep from the air, and now I'm Ohio again. So a quick update from last friday on, I had wanted to visit 'Pearsonville' on Norm's recommendation. It's a yard with 4-5000 cars in it based out in the desert. But the owner wasn't around when I was, so it worked out bad for me... So I went to a place in Long Beach called Memory Lane instead, great yard with maybe four or five hundred cars. Here's the pics. I know it's a 17mm lense, but check out the scale of the Corvette compared to the Cadillac, makes you realise just how big they are. And because I'm feeling guilty for leaving the euro fans amongst us out of it during my American odyssey... If you want to buy anything, they ship too...

Okay guys, been a couple of weeks since an update, so here's what's been going on. I left off in California with the Hot Rod Reunion, looking back on that event it really was epic... I was blown away by the fine selection of metal layed before me, the people, smell and sounds. Cacklefest, sunsets over orange groves, dust and nitromethane hanging in the air. Tatoos, rods, slingshots, rails and every perversity of metal that I could hope for... Here are some more pictures Got talking to the owner of this 57 panel about bumpers and since found out he may well be Corey Miller, the guy who owns sixfeetunder the tatoo parlour now made famous by the program 'LA Ink'... Doesn't mean a whole lot to me, but a nice guy and a very cool panel. Running a hot 350, he's owned it for about nine years and overtook me on the Interstate doing about 85 in it. This is super nice in my opinion... Actually screw that, it just is... And it had this in it Bad picture, but headed back into Bakersfield this cruised past at 70+... You can almost feel the picture

So like I said, that was a couple of weeks ago, and 2308 miles away. I'm now over in Ohio, Columbus to be exact and ironically where the Hot Rod Reunion is held on the eastern side of the States in June. The traverse was pretty straightforward and went off without a hitch, I passed through Vegas mid afternoon and cruised the strip before heading North West. Although passing across the Rockies in the middle of the night meant I awoke to Kansas... And there's not a lot there. However staying in this, on top of the Rockies wasn't an option without a cab heater. It did mean I got some great Interstate all to myself though, here's a pic of the flightdeck on the 'Sir Robert Moontrash III'. Music, smokes and some Sobe energy... Keep on trucking, tyres squeeling for mercy This may have had something to do with the intense cold. Don't eat the yellow snow son. So Kansas... I had to tilt the camera to try and make it look interesting. For 500miles. Anyway I'm staying with some friends who've just moved here, some of you may remember my mate Adam as the guy who put the cream Amazon estate together, the one on 17in Americans, rake, rack etc. Adam and I have history, and it's always involved motor vehicles along the way. Plus he needed wheels over here. Can you see where this is going? Not even we could have predicted where it was going to end though

Love this pic, even though you call it 'bad'. Or is that 'bad' as in 'pretty darn cool'?
