Purchased this last week for the princly sum of £150 engine is seized it's compleat with new battery (not fitted) and a decoke set Unfortunatly it came free with this (2 owners full service history ec tect), cant have the precious without the tat but hey stuff it in the garage till it's needed, i'm prety sure the Exs escort wont pass another mot without loads of welding so that's her sorted for a new car LOL (that'll teach her her to faf about picking what new car she wants, now she gets what i have spare in the garage at the time). Well OK the bike came with the car, it was retiree garage clearance so also got 1/2 ton of rubbish and more axle stands!!! plus boxes of bit's i'll spend ages going through I'm gonna have a go at unseizing the engine this week, any recomendations ? the last owner alrerady tried diesel and i filled the top end with atf when i got it back to the yard saterday i wont be driving it ! just a light resto and sell it on, little scooters aint me, at 6,4 and 20 stone it's not really a match made in heavan

Loving the express, I like mopeds too! I've never worked on the express before, but I think it's got a strange clockwork starter mechanism. I bet it won't take much to unsieze it, Can't wait to see it back on the road, but remember you need to put that bad boy shopping basket back on the front! I don't know if you've seen this before,

Yep this is the later normal kick start not the early clcokwork type i've had one before, i dragged one out of a local river a few years back, it was there from when i was a kid and used to fish in that spot, just for a laugh i went back (25 odd years after i last saw it) and it was still there in the mud so i pulled it out and sold it for spares (i magnet fish the same river and have done since i was 6 and lost my first reel in the river and got it back using an old speaker and some string ) The plan is to get onto it in the winter when work slows down, my partner at the garage is 72 this month and waiting on a hernia OP so it will be a nice easy job for him and me (3 damaged discs in my back), a bit of T cut and at least the paint is sorted LOL. There was one at enfield pagent also siezed up for £200 and a runner for £700, a coincidence cos this came from Whitewebbs museum who run the show i know a few of the peeps who run the museum (i used to transport thier vehicals back when i had a recovery truck) this particular chap used to look after thier motorbikes and scooters at the museum but has recently become ill and given it all up, hense the garage clearout The skoda has more service history than i've ever seen on one car ! he even had all 4 indicator bulbs changed at the main dealers a year or so back! £36 for 4 bulbs, madness the scooter has nowt, no V5 or history mind you it sat in the museum for years till they had a clear out and chnaged stock, as this one was siezed it didn't get sold off and he took it home (bowt 10 years ago) rather than scrap it, i do like an interesting history i also got some old petrol cans and old oil/degreaser tins as well, which was nice

thats a good haul you got. your express looks fairly clean it will be nice provided you can get it sorted mechanically
£700 is way too much for an express, and £200 a bit much for a seized one ive had runners for that, but you never know they might get some mug who doesnt know about bikes who takes a fancy to it

Blimey. About 20 years ago some nice person helped themselves to my Kwaka GT550 and I bought a Honda Express for £30 to get me to work until the insurance paid. It neither looked good or went well with a 6'5" 265lb rider aboard. My oldest daughter then used it as a field bike until it expired.
A lot of interest in classic mopeds at the moment.
