I bought a diff light switch for my Discovery, it had Lucas stamped on it. I've bought a replacement switch which should be OEM (Lucas), however it has FAE stamped on it?
The seller tells me FAE make Lucas's switch's, is that true?

Lucas are just a "shell" brand now, like Polaroid, Blaupunkt etc - they'll stamp their logo on absolutely anything and AFAIK don't manufacture or develop "in house" anymore. The stuff they stick their logo on is of very variable quality. Don't pay a premium for a Lucas part!
To answer your question in a roundabout way: FAE might the switches for Lucas, but it doesn't really matter because Lucas stuff isn't really "Lucas" anymore.

TBH it's no great drama not being lucas, i've sent so many new lucas parts back recently it's getting to the point i try to avoid them as a parts supply, it's all made in china nowdays anyway last week i went through 3 astra 1.4 idle valves before i got one that worked! all lucas all new boxed from my usuall parts supplyer and thier bulbs usually don't even last a year, got a van back in for it's yearly MOT and evey bloody bulb i changed last year had blackened and burnt out all lucas (i buy them in bulk).
