So, font of all that is retro, help me find some headlamps... As part of the rebuild of my beach buggy I want to find some different headlamps, something more in-keeping with the body style. Mine on the left, my Dads on the right... Basically I need: - LHD - Easy to mount to a flat panel - around 7" x 5" max - Available to buy easily - not sealed beam. So, any thoughts out there on where to look?

Hmm, interesting. I have just sent Jass a mail to see if they will sell the lamps without all the MX5 specific parts. Possibly an option, albeit a costly one.

Late volvo fl6 headlights are that sort of size and house a projector instead of reflector, the are h1 and h7 bulbs too.

They remind me of those oldish lorry lights, the ones that sit in the front bumper...M.A.N or something like that.

Hillman Avenger or Mk1 Capri? Pre facelift has small ones, with a separate indicator next to them (might be same part as hillman) Face lift had wider ones

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I've just bought a pair of wartburg ones from ebay, €40 incl mounting frames and delivery, seemed worth a punt. Shall see if they are any use when they arrive next week.

Any pre-1984 American car or derivative would have come with 6x4 (or round) sealed beam lamps.
There are off the shelf halogen replacements for these, cheap as chips for LHD fitment.
Another source is VW T25 vans or mk2 Scirocco

They look like a couple of fun toys Maybe a bit late but for info : Hunter lights are size 4x6, Escort Mk1 etc are 5x7 If buying weird stuff cheap (I think mine are Skoda ?), maybe buy 2 pairs so you have spares if needed.
