Hi Folks, I managed to have my glove-box veneer signed by none other than Norman Dewis! So what do I do now, or indeed who should I find, to ensure this is properly sealed so it can't be rubbed off or whatever?

Is it going to be used in a car?
If not it might be best to just handle with care and ultimately put it in a display cabinet

What was it signed with? First thought is to spray varnish over it but depending on what it is written in that might dissolve it.
I would either just keep separate, as above, or if you know the type of pen get one and experiment with varnish lacquer etc.
Oh, and great to get the signature :-)

Sure I've seen a chap somewhere who managed to get John Cleland to sign possibly a sunvisor, and he laquered over it, which made the ink dissolve and run. Personally I'd keep it out the way of the car, box frame it or stick it in an airtight clear wallet

I'd like it to be in the car, I must say. It'd make the interior look proper class! But as to what it is written with, the truth is I'm just not sure. It was some generic permanent marker (sorry!). What's worse is that the writing is on the glossy layer anyway. No signs of rubbing off but it's the sort of "tenuous" mark that as you say, a solvent may rub off. For the sake of < £40 (say) I'm happy to have someone do it professionally but I'm really not sure who to ask / turn to for something like this. But it might be the display cabinet is what this comes to.

spray on clear will make it run , if you go with wrap what happens if it bubbles or yellows etc ?
id go with locking it away somewhere and using a spare , maybe swap it on for car shows or whatever
