Hey guys! This is my first car. It's a 1996 Daewoo Nexia Sedan. I bought it in last september from my neighbour for 100.000 HUF (about 300 euros). It has rego until january of 2018, electric windows, power steering, a Lovato LPG system, so It's really cheap to fuel and it only had 80000 kms on the clock. This was the day I bought it: After the purchase I replaced the mangled bumper support, so now the front looks acceptable. In January the radiator decided it wanted to crack so I had to replace that too. The horn was very weak so I bought some Ebaydm fake hellas and it sounds really loud. The latest purchase was a set of 15x7 wheels with 185/55s on them and this is how the car looks now. (Need to lower it a LOT) Thanks for reading!

We used to get Daewoo hire cars for service jobs when I worked in Camden in about 1996.
There were esperos, which were a bit bigger I think, And racers, which were astra-ish.... which is what that looks like (well a Belmont I suppose) is the nexia the same as the racer?

It is only a 1.5 8v not a 4.2, I only bought that for joke.(It actually says "az ablakmosótartály" which translates to "the windshield washer reservoir") This is my daily, but I really want to bring it out to a trackday at the Hungaroring, but to do that the nexia needs bigger brakes(the stock brakes on 8v models are pretty curse word, better tyres (maybe with lighter wheels), and some gauges for real water temp(the stock one is pretty useless)and oil temp and i also need to fix my tachometer. John Yes, the esperos are bigger than the nexia. The Racer and the Nexia are about the same car, the only difference is the outside really, and they share suspension and other parts with the Kadett E and Astra F.

Did some work on the Nexia today. First I swapped my wheels back to the stock steelies, because the alloys are either going to be sold or traded for a set os Astra F Gsi rims. Next I went to the parts store and bought some oil, filter, valve cover gasket and a pair of sway bar end link repair kits. Some idiot decided the stock air box clips were not good so he put some screws in the air box. Luckily I had some clips laying around so I could swap the screws for the clips. Then I took the valve cover off, painted it black and changed the gasket. Then I changed the old sway bar end links to some new ones and the car feels so much better now. Currently I'm saving up for Vectra A brakes for the front and rear, a Stinger 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, TA Technix lowering kit and going to make an oil catch can either this weekend or next week, so I'll keep you guys updated.

the saloon versions were sold as daewoo racer in most markets. johnthesparky the espero was larger family car based on the ascona C (mk2 cav) the amount of kadett still in there pleases me it gave us a 10 year extension on parts availability

Got a day off school today, so I decided to clean the car inside and outside. I started with a pressure washer and saw there was a lot of dirt coming from under the roof bars, so I decided to take them off and was shocked at the amount of grime underneath. Also I had some stickers laying around, so I stickerbombed the fuel filler door. After the big cleaning she looks pretty nice. She needs more low for sure!

I can't remember the last time I saw an old Daewoo like that on the roads over here in the UK. Nice to see it getting the treatment and keeping it on the road. What part of Hungary are you in? I will be out there in a few weeks time,I'm hoping that the sun will be out so i can enjoy blasting about in my trabi out there.

Be sure to message me when you get the chance to visit Hungary! Tremendous, as said these are a rare sight over here now. Thank you! Older Daewoos are pretty rare in Hungary too, so it always makes me happy when I see one in traffic or even at car meets.

Excellent, I can't remember the last time I saw a Daewoo of this vintage, I figured that they must've all dissolved by now! How much of the Astra Belmont would bolt straight on? Will the panels fit?

Thanks! Old Daewoos do rust a lot, but luckily my car is not that bad. The bumpers, hood, trunk, fenders are different, because of the different lights on the Nexia, but the chassis, doors, windows and suspension are exactly same as the Astra Belmont. The dash is the same too, but the interior is different, but I think the mounting points are all the same on both cars.

My mother had a Nexia hatchback (and a Belmont before it funnily enough), I always thought it drove quite well, it had the 16v engine and I found it to be pretty nippy! Regarding the fitment of Astra parts, whenever I bought parts for it the local factors never had any Daewoo parts in stock so I would buy mk2 Astra parts which as you would imagine always fitted straight on. From memory I think most mechanical and suspension parts from the mk3 Astra were also compatible.

My car only has a 8v in it and I already have fun with it, so I can't imagine what a 16v would be like. Before I buy parts I always check the price between the Nexia and the Astra parts, which is ridiculous, because the Astra part is usually about half as much as the Nexia one.
