Hello everyone. I haven't posted for donkeys as my last car didn't qualify but I have just swapped it for a lovely 1990 V-spec Mazda MX5 so I'm back in the fold (whatever that means?).
V-Spec MX5s generally have tan leather seats amongst other things. Mine are a bit rough to say the least & I have seen some very tidy Alfa Romeo seats in the same or very nearly the same colour. I don't mind a bit of fabricating to make them fit but I noticed that they are heated which would be a very nice Brucey bonus on those occasions where putting the roof on isn't an option but the heater isn't quite taking the chill off.
Question time. As electrics aren't really my strong point I need to know if wiring the heated part up is going to be loads of hassle? Alfa seats have built in switches but I'm thinking relays, fuses, that stuff. Can I just run a live from say the battery with an in-line fuse, earth wire to the chassis/floor or one from the fuse box with the necessary connectors, job done or am I likely to melt my car, kill my battery etc? In my head it's doable but I need to hear from some more electrically minded people.
If you read this far then thanks & sorry.
