i don't post much as i don't have anything retro so i am usually a cereal lurker ( and no i don't hide in cornflake boxes!) but do get a lot out of reading the forums, and I'm hoping some kind folk can help me with a query. can i please also state this is not a for sale thread, so please don't ask how much is this or how much is that, i am genuinely after help/advice/pointers, and if a sale is to happen i will create a proper for sale post ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Late last year we unfortunately had a death in the family, over the past few months my dad has been clearing out the house of his dearly departed father in law and as such has come accross quite a lot of motoring parts/accesories/extras as hes gone, my dad has boxed them all up and brought them to me to sift through and see if there is anything that could be sold on, or would be of any use to anyone. I'm by no means an expert but some of this stuff is brand new in the original boxes, the majority of items appear to be Austin/Metro related but some of it we've no idea about. Please would you mind having a look through and seeing if anything makes any sense, or if you can identify any bits and pieces, i would be most grateful if you could spare a few minutes. enough waffling onto the pictures, if anyone wants anything clearer or more photos etc please let me know. Thanks All ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131041_zpsffg0sjt1.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131053_zpsiyjgarbx.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131059_zps90ue2ims.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131116_zpsjx0e3uny.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131125_zpsajwjawww.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131133_zpsxbosqtvq.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131140_zpsvtkjxmea.jpg) ![](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/recarouk/Mobile%20Uploads/20170417_131500_zps6zfxu8zb.jpg)

Are the 2 horns mini air horns or just normal loud horns? Think they are normal ones bud, removed from a metro possibly tried to test both one had some life the other was silent but I only had an old battery charger to test them with.

Wasn't sure if the flaps were worth anything and the computer had us giggling but again know nothing about them.

Anything Austin 1300 applicable, either parts or books... Drop me a line.
Getting thin on the ground nowadays, and eBay is full of jokers.

Sorry to hear of your bereavement chap. Be a shame for these parts to be left unused or under-sold. But, this thread will fall off the main page. Not sure if the 'What's it worth' section covers parts or just cars? That would hopefully give you an idea and then I'm sure you'd sell them in the 'parts for sale' section for a fair price. Anywhoo, thanks for sharing you have some gems there 😎

Round indicator lenses look like Mini ones and the oblong side repeaters look like generic aftermarket ones from the 70s/80s when cars often didn't have them as standard.
The Unipart 'driving computer' is probably my favourite item in the lot here.
The 8-track players might net you something, they're a peculiar item these days, you may find the cassettes harder to shift than the players.
It's an interesting lot anyway, just a shame you came by it the way you did.

Search eBay for 'sold listings' will give you an idea on value.

It is actually quite a clever collection of practically everything that would be needed to cover a breakdown. My guess is that your dads father in law knew a fair bit about his a series engine found in all minis and early metros. Good luck with the sale.

He was into all sorts from cars to ham radios so had a lot of things which is no bad thing these days I guess. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks buddy, the indicator lenses are odd, one is glass one plastic I wasn't sure what he'd had with them on to be honest. The computer had us chuckling to be fair what a gadget, just never seen one before. Thanks for the reply.

From what we can remember he had an old x plate (we think) metro from new, then traded for an h plate metro when they were new out, which would explain a lot of the parts. There's even an old trickle battery charger in there, which madly enough still has power output, certainly enough to test the horn! Cheers for the reply.

The lenses may have a number stamped into them. Glass ones were replaced by plastic ones in the 60s or 70s and used on a wide range of cars, usually BMC/BL. They might even be suitable for Landrover. Likely to be Lucas, possibly Wipac.
You should be able to shift most of the stuff fairly easily because a lot of it does look like generic stuff so there's lots of cars that use these bits.
