Californian import 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 5.3l V12
This E Type is mechanically sound with a current MOT and UK Registration. Work has recently been carried out on the engine in the USA including the fitting of a new SNG Barrett electronic ignition kit and distributor. The engine has been refreshed with a new oil filter and 30-50 classic mineral oil; it runs perfectly and is completely free of any smoke issues. The front top and bottom ball joints on both sides have been rebuilt, greased and along with the steering rack they have new rubber boots, also new track rod ends have been fitted. The sills and floor of the car are solid with only slight surface rust inside. The rear sub frame has been dropped, checked over and fitted with new brake and handbrake pads. A new prop-shaft seal has been fitted along with the differential flushed and cleaned then refilled with HYP 90 oil. The radius arms have been re-bushed; also the car has brand new tyres fitted including a new spare tyre.
The chassis is solid and has good gaps on the doors and bonnet. The car has a really good black leather interior and lovely original headlining with only one small tear in the rear seat although it would benefit from a re-spray as the paint has patina from the Californian sun.
The car runs well with a responsive 5,343cc engine mated to a smooth Borg Warner 3 speed automatic gearbox making this E-Type a fun car to drive. Finished in white with black trim this Jaguar is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MOT test certificate. With the 2 + 2 configuration more suited to the taller driver, it is easy to see the desirability of examples such as this, particularly in view of the very attractive price.
