Renault Saviem (AVIA) TP3 4x4 4WD, Overland Motorhome Camper Expedition Vehicle Recovery Truck
For sale is a Renault Saviem TP3 4x4, derived from the AVIA truck, before they were bought out by Renault. V5 present in my name - Vehicle registered 1981.
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this advert - I wanted to build this truck into an overland vehicle.
The 3.32 litre diesel engine runs and sounds great. Mechanically it feels solid, all the gears select. It has 8 gears, low ratio box and high ratio box and 4x4 - all of which work. It only has 55K on the clock.
The brakes need work, on the front passenger wheel it sounds like carbon pads have slipped off the brake shoes.
The cab will need welding for the MOT but as it’s a chassis + cab configuration you will be able to do this as and when it’s required (if your aim is to get it on the road and not a full restoration). The chassis is solid.
It was first used as a airport vehicle - hence the low mileage. It was then registered as a Recovery Truck, and still is under that title. Former keepers 3.
I have done a fair bit of research on this vehicle, which I will share with the new owner, chassis drawings/manuals etc - along with a letter from Renault I requested, this specifies the weight and a few other details. My plan was to down plate it from a 4 ton plate to a 3.5 ton, so I could drive it on my license. I have some contact details of companies that can send a new plate out.
I have decided to sell as I am losing the storage facility, they do pop up for sale maybe once/twice a year so my desire to turn one of these into an overland will have to be a future goal.
If you have any questions then feel welcome to ask or come and view.
£1850

Thanks
