We managed a varied selection from the range on our stand at the NEC over the weekend. They asked for 'barn finds' so Dick Husband brought a 1954 Aronde 9 straight to the show from the spot it had stood since 1962. It was accompanied by his son Dan's late Aronde. My brother Kev's RHD 1200S Bertne coupe stood next to a pair of SIMCA Rallye 2's and AB Car Pix's orange low & wide Horizon completed the stand. Loads of interest for our cars along with the Murena, Rancho and Bagheera on the MATRA stand next door. Photos to follow...........

Photos were by my cheap Kodak digital camera. For a change at the NEC, we were in a spot where the lighting was reasonably OK. Past efforts there have resulted in some dodgy shots with the same camera. AB Car Pix was on our stand and took loads of shots round the show.

We had a great weekend and thanks for bringing the Horizon. Got the coupe back to Derbyshire last night and collected the Rallye 2 this morning. While loading it on the trailer we found the clutch hydraulics had recovered enough to be able to drive it..!!! sod's law..!!

The cars in Spain look good. I have an 1100 (I think they are SIMCA 1200 in Spain) and an 1100 VF2 pickup and 2 other 1000s as well as the one at the show (CEP710V)... they are a supercharged 1000SR and an ex youngtimer racer that came from Germany.

You guys make me want to buy a Simca. They are such cool cars, and still not tooooooo crazy money in France Go get one! Easy one of the most fun holidays/car trips I had was when I went to get my Granada. Plus you get a bizarrely un-rusty car out of it too. |

Yep, what Ade said, one of the most memorable trips for me was driving 800 odd miles to Stuttgart to pick up my Opel, it was awesome, plus got home with a cool car too!

Even SIMCA themselves couldn't work out whether that colour was Yellow or green. One model year they called it 'jaune rallye' the next 'vert acide'..!! Local motor factors paint dept. have narrowed it down to Rootes bitter green for me.

Was a great show for our club. Didn't get much done on the jobs we had planned as we spent most of the time talking SIMCAs to the visitors to the show. Pleased They put the photos & info I sent in the clubs bit of the show guide too...as they did for your club. Only hitch is we had to change the line up at the last minute as one of the cars needed trailerin meaning my racer stated at home.
