The fuel tank on my mini developed a leak on the seam last week. I've swapped it with a temp replacement but ideally I'd like to get the original repaired as it's in much better condition.
There's no hole, just a very slow leak from the bottom seam, is this repairable? Can anyone recommend anywhere in W.Yorks?
Cheers!

It would be cheaper to buy a new or good used one.

I used some of the por15 tank sealer when I modified a lh tank to a rh tank. Like yours it was just a few pinholes around a weld and it sorted it no problem.

What Nudgeds said. By the way, do you still have that lovely little Vauxhall powered thing?

If you're meaning me then yes I do. Non runner right now though as I need to wire a new Emerald ecu in. Also got a mk2 Escort to play with.

POR15 all the way. I fixed around 70 tanks using this.
My advice would be buy smallest tin you can. Most of it gets poured back out. Also if you pour a full tin in it just races around the tank as you tip it back and forward round the tank.
If you pour a small amount in it just creeps around slowly which is ideal.
I once fixed a tank which had 25 holes in the base. Mazda with rubbery coating. Water had got trapped between the rubber and steel and caused multiple clean holes. Like acid burns.
Biggest drawback is if the tank has internal plumbing or floats. They are toast if the stuff gets in there.
A new tank would could be cheaper for a popular car tho.

Our local radiator reconditioning service also repairs petrol tanks. Far cheaper than buying a new one. Pressure tested and painted too.

Cheers for all the reposes guys.
New tanks are a good couple of hundred quid. Whilst I can (and have) get a 2nd hand one, my original has the restrictor flap in for unleaded fuel (as per new cars) and this has been difficult to source. You can't even get it on the new ones!
I only want it as minis have a tendency to empty the tank on a bend when full and the restrictor does a good job of stopping this.

When I was offering a mobile service fixing them back in the 90s (a tough gig for the £65 I charged) I could sometimes get 3 tanks out of a Quart tin.
I don't know the capacity of the mini fuel tank but I reckon the small one (aimed at motorcycles) would be plenty.
Had a quick look on Ebay (prior to seeing your thread incidentally) and looks like you can get it for less than £25
