Hello everyone, I have a Mercedes OM602 2.9 5 cylinder diesel engine for sale, complete with Bosch injection pump and all ancillaries! It has only done 86,000 miles from new and is coming out of a vehicle that is too rotten to repair, engine runs like clockwork and a video of it running can be provided!
Getting one of these at this mileage is an incredible rarity and would be perfect for an E190, G wagon, marine use? I have heard these engines are ideal to run on bio diesel or even vegetable oil! lived a very easy life and has only had two owners from new!

Get thee behind me Satan....this is what my G Wagen needs! Except the last thing I need to do is buy your engine and give myself another project, I'm trying to get rid of the thing but can't quite bring myself to put the for sale ad up.
Good luck with the sale, these are cracking engines.

I would absolutely love a G! If I had the money I would be buying it off you and putting this engine in! Thank you for the bump! As you say these engines are incredible! May also throw in the powerflow stainless steel exhaust it comes with (Which I am sure could be persuaded to it other models)  |

I don't see the hype. An om605 or 606 can be obtained for less than half of what you're asking. And they're newer, and more powerful.

Agreed that the OM605 or 606 is a more powerful unit, but I believe they are electronically governed if I am not mistaken? Which means putting them into a car that didn't previously have that engine becomes more complicated.
Price wise I am just going off what OM602s are going for with similar mileages.
At the end of the day they are all awesome engines!

Thank you very much, considering a breaker on eBay is listing the same engine from what looks to be a very high mileage, crash damaged sprinter for £1500 for a bare engine with no ancillaries I would say my price is fair, obviously I am flexible on the price as it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. If you are saying the OM605 or 606 are a much better and cheaper engine why comment on a post titled "Mercedes OM602 2.9 5 Cylinder engine for sale, 86K complete!", unless you are just trolling? |
