Many years ago (26 to be precise) I had a Fiat 126. Following a beer fuelled discussion in the local one night I decided that what it needed was an Alfa boxer engine and box. The final result had a mid mounted Sprint Veloce engine and box in a sub-frame that carried twin wishbone and coil over rear suspension. The front was also coil overs and had Fiesta discs and calipers. There was a cage that held it all together as most of the floor behind the rear seats was gone. It rolled on Sprint Veloce wheels all tucked under stock body work. It was a hoot to drive.
Last I heard it was in Birmingham about 20 years ago. I can't remember the reg number.
Does any one recognise this description or know of it? Just idle curiosity really.
Ta.

I can't help with this, but an Alfa Flat 4 in a 126 sounds like a genius idea. Hope someone on here can help, and I hope it still exists.

Funny that. That's the engine I was going to drop in mine before I realised I couldn't be bothered.

I would save it myself if I had the space and condition wasn't too grim. Hopefully someone will step up.

That is awesome. I love it Yeah, you should save it. A buddy of mine raced a Sud powered 133 in the late '80s.

Talk about stars in alignment!
Worst case, grab it and if you're not in a position to sort it out right now at least you know where it is and you can stop it getting any worse?

I think dannyboy420 on the NSRA forum could well be Danny Pike from Outlaw Flat Four. Do you want me to message him and find out crockpot?

I've been informed that the wheels are missing so the search is on for replacements. Unfortunately I can't remember what the front ones were. I know they weren't 5.5x13 like the rears and they had 165/50x13 Yokohama's on (no longer available). A set of Cinquecento ones will do to move it.
