My torque converters are struggling a bit with the torque from the larger capacity\forced induction setup and this is only going to get worse when the engine rebuilds are completed this coming winter with an increase of about an extra 100lb/ft of torque expected.
The current ones were designed for a 1.6l NA engine so are actually doing quite well but are really out of their depth.
Does anyone have any recommendation for a torque converter specialist in the UK that can supply custom beefed up converters?
Can get from US but -
A: Exchange rates and import duty make them very expensive
B: Nearly all are for drag racing with higher stall speeds which I don't want (if anything it could do with being a bit lower than current due to extra torque of the 2l engines with fast spooling turbo's).
C: Need to ship back exchange converter or pay another surcharge (yet more shipping costs).
