My Feb 01 Parkers Price guide lists a 94 Maxima 3.0 SE V6 with a new price of 21,625, you would expect to pay £2,695 for an A1 condition in Feb 01. Last year we bought the Parkers price guide to do P11ds at work so I keep in in my office library for prosperity. Well, even if it was £22k rather than £30k new, I only paid just over 2% of it's original asking price in January last year, so I'm still a smiling member of the <5% club! :-)

adam73bgtInteresting info tali100 ! Where did you get your figures from? I'd love to find an old dealership price list for the E38 so I could work out what mine would have cost with all the options accounted for As far as I'm aware they were the original wheels, I think it was a BMW UK fleet car originally so may have had a slightly odd spec This link will decode your spec. However, it won't show prices- and standard features are mixed with the options. If you can paste your spec , i might be able to compare with another uk vin www.bmwvin.com/

Unfortunately I sold the E38 a year or so back now and never took a note of the VIN! Hard to tell the difference between the standard features and options as you say but it had most of the 'normal' stuff I think, without getting into all the bespoke 7 series options like fridges and fax machines haha

I paid £1500 for this 500SL. I think that's 1.6% of the 1991 new price, which seems to have been £88,000. Thanks tali100 for the update! My £1500 is 2.1% of the 1991 new price of £72k. tali100 - Can you share a shot of the page in your magic book for the 300E/E320 from around the same time, '89 - '92?

I paid £150 for a 1994 xj40 sovereign. Lovely motor. Sold for £770! Does that count?
Also paid £34 for a 2001 Subaru Forester I sold for £700. Doesn't count I know.
