I bought this Bosch starter about 10 years ago secondhand from a guy in ClubGTI as my standard starter was having trouble cranking my high compression 2.0L 16v engine in my Mk2 Golf. I'm sure he said it was from a diesel model, it was certainly larger than the original one and apparently higher torque so suitable for higher comp. However, I never got around to fitting it so it's been in my garage unused since then.
I'll test it again with a battery if anyone wants to collect it from me in Cheshire for £20? Last tested Dec last year and it span fine then so don't think there are any issues with it. Part numbers shown in pics. Hopefully it'll suit someone's car as I doubt I'll buy any more Mk2 Golfs any time soon (hence other thread with bits for sale!).
