What's the inside length of the "van" space when the seats are removed? Wondering if one could fit two green lane bikes in when the seats are out. (Carpets protected of course!!).

Internal measurements are 240cm from inside of tailgate when closed to the back of the drivers seat, 160cm wide at the narrowest point, 140cm from floor to roof lining. Perfect for trips to Wales with a mate and 2 motocross bikes, not as quick as a 5 series Beemer but you can get a lot more in it

I was thinking of dropping a sheet of ply in there. 90% of the time the seats would be in, it's just for a once in 6 months boys weekend away that bikes would need to be transported.

From memory (I used to have the same model) the added insulation and carpeting on a Caravelle means you can't get a sheet of 1220 ply etc sitting flat on the floor. Really nice drive, the 2.4 5 pot diesel sounds great. Your's looks a lot tidier than mine was!

2 bikes easy. Bro have a t4 van and my mate has one of these and we can get 2 enduro bikes in no problem. You will need to put in anchorage points though as you can risk a handlebar hitting a window.
My mate uses the clear sticky film on the floor. I think its carpet protection for at at home if your having work done.

This is all kinds of a bargain! Why does the right car always come up at the wrong time?! Don't want a track prepped Mk2 MX5 do you (the antithesis of what you said you wanted as a p/s I appreciate).

Hi Andy. This is my first post so please bear with me. I would love this van for trips to France with the family my partner has a vw golf estate with around 55k miles. I am the second owner. A full sevice was carried out when purchased with new pads and disks around and cambelt changed. If you are interested we could maybe work out a deal golf and abit of cash?. Cheers Rick 07752915857

My mate uses the clear sticky film on the floor. I think its carpet protection for at at home if your having work done. It has factory supplied over carpets already with tailored holes for the seat mounts in the floor so the fitted carpets are protected (good job too as I have 2 big dogs!). Maybe the seat mounts in the floor and seat belt anchor points can double up as mounting points for straps to hold the bikes in place?Hi Andy. This is my first post so please bear with me. Managed to hoover the old girl this morning but rain prevented the wash and polish I was hoping to do today.
Mileage turned 123,000 this morning - pretty low for a 23 year old Transporter and verified by the MOT records. Last owner had the T4 for 11 years and only did a couple of thousand miles most years.
Interior still looks good - previous owner was a 'mature gentleman' so I don't think it's had a hard life with kids and dogs in the back etc.
It has an after-market CD player.
My local garage fitted new rear brake shoes last week and gave it a clean bill of health so should sail through the MOT, but I can put a fresh one on if it's an issue.
It also comes with the original steel wheels and wheel trims and a "Captain's Chair" swivel base so one of the front seats can be turned to face the people in the back when parked.
Had some interest and prospective part-ex's offered to me but no one has been to see it yet. Come and have a look, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
In the interests of being 100% honest there are a couple of minor faults, but they are minor: 1) The lock on the side sliding door doesn't always lock when the others do (but does always unlock). I guess it's a vacuum system of some sort and that lock is a bit tired. Not a major fault but worth mentioning so you don't accidentally leave the vehicle insecure one day. 2) There is a loose connection behind the dash which means sometimes the fuel gauge and temperature gauge don't operate. It can be like that for a few weeks, then you go over a bump and they start working fine for a few days, then hit another bump and they stop working. The van never overheats and I just reset the trip clock and refill every 350 miles, that way I know there is always loads in there and I won't run out of fuel. I'm told it's an easy fix to solder the loose wire but only after you've taken the dash out to get at it so I never bothered. All the other gauges and warning lights work fine. 3) The switch for the electric door mirrors doesn't work - being a Caravelle it has electric mirrors and windows. I took the mirrors off to check the connections and found that there were no motors in them! It turns out the originals were stolen (twice!), so the last owner put manual ones on the second time he replaced them. Again, not an issue but I'd rather mention it than not.
Ohh, and someone asked for the date of first registration - it's 10/02/1994
