Hi,
I have updated this thread as so much has changed since the last post.
The original post was to find someone that would share our facilities and take up some spare room and share some rent and possibly join in on the adventures, that person has now moved in and got comfy so rather than waste valuable internet space on this forum I have modified the original post with a new message, which is to inform the retro and classic car world of all the good things we can do for the community and their cars alike.
Garage Sinister was (still is, a bit) predominantly a Japanese car importer but with a slight difference, we would actually buy our own stock with our own money and make some modifications and restore were required, this was the primary model which would pay overheads of having a garage facility from the profits of every vehicle sale. This was a great model up until the exchange rates became less favorable and cars in japan shot up in price.
As the GS team is made up of professional automotive engineers (from the Design & Validation world of the automotive engineering) we always have had the ability, skills and knowledge to support complex vehicle builds, generally we kept the deep project builds on our own personal track biased projects and the road cars we imported from Japan. At that time we did not want to deviate from the model as the industrial unit we rent would not allow many more vehicles been layed up. That is were it has all changed, with cars been almost un-affordable in Japan we had to switch strategies quickly or shut the doors, so to keep a long story shorter we now offer our experience, skills and abilities to customer owned cars to fund the garage. We all have professional day jobs linked to the development of vehicle engineering so do trust us.
So what are we today? The garage is currently part-time, doors are open on evenings and weekends. It's all above board, fully insured and registered as a business concern under a LTD company structure. We hope to go full time as its grows with support from our customers. So over the last 12 months we have invested in more engineering equipment to ensure we have the full suit of fabrication tools that the modern world has to offer allowing us to restore, engineer road and race cars, we can build from scratch or restore from a rusty wreck, long term projects are welcomed.
MIG & TIG welding, Tube benders, notchers, hydraulic swaging and hole cutting, presses and all sorts of hand tooling for all those special tasks we have. We can stick, cut, whack, and manipulate metal of most derivatives into any shape we like...We can scare engines into running again and we can make a quiet car into a scary monster if required.
We also have full CAE/CAD capability so we can engineer anything virtually this includes RollCages and any other motorsport or classic car fabrication parts you may need. So if your looking for accurate quoting we can quote you to the exact amount of material required to do a job as well as the labour to execute it. We don't just guess, we measure and calculate how long it will take.
We can make a 3D model of whatever you like before making it a reality. We are hoping to match this capability to a CNC tabletop plasma cutter in the near future. So gone are the days of card board modeling....So no more cereal boxes are to harmed in our garage.
Whatever your needs drop me a PM or email with your request and we can discuss in detail, we would never take on a task that we could not complete, nor pretend we can do something we cant, you will be surprised what we can do though. If your simply bored and looking to pass some time then your welcome to pitch up and point at stuff in the Garage, just make sure you bring something for us to look at in return (motor vehicles only). We have made some cool cars to date and sold a few too. So if your interested in our services then call by and take a look at the current projects.
Our prices are very competitive and we always pre-agree hourly rates, rates are based on the type of work and we always agree upon customer driven milestones, no upfront money required and deadlines are taken seriously. This means you can monitor costs on the big long term projects and track progress every step of the way.

I am not good at keeping forums up to date or taking pictures, so I will do my best going forward. We are on facebook and one of the team is handy with a video camera and does some youtube stuff so look out for us on there.
