Thought it wise to just copy and paste the original request again. Happening on Friday. The response has been amazing and I am absolutely humbled by the contributions that have come in so far. Right now I am just trying to see if anyone else still wants to contribute to this worthy cause. As before, happy with any size contribution and also happy to process your donation via my PayPal address should you not be able to navigate the Just Giving badge, linked below. Requesting charitable support......Or sponsorship, call it what you like. I volunteered recently to do a 20km bicycle ride for a charity that our company supports every year on the 1st of July 2017 The charity looks after children with very limited life expectancy, so quite an emotive appeal for those who have healthy kids and not lost any kids. I cannot even imagine the pain. This year it takes the shape of a day which includes a "Try-Athlon" with the emphasis on the try-ing With teams of one, two or three doing the run, swim and cycle legs. I have not cycled in pretty much 20 years, and have put in a few 10km rides the last two weeks. So here is the thing........ I WILL NOT BE WEARING ANY LYCRA I WILL BE WEARING MY CARGO SHORTS AND T-SHIRT PLUS HELMET AND SOME GLOVES, ALONG WITH TRAINERS. The bike I ride was off Freecycle. My ask of any of you who read my thread updates and find pleasure from it, but also feel that these charities deserve some support, is to please contribute "A Dollar, A Dime, A Penny or a Pound, or as much as you feel you want to. I think every Dollar or Pound makes a difference. Only contribute if you feel you can afford it, and also see the good in what these charities do supporting families or communities. If you want to contribute, as I said, any money, be it a Penny or a Pound, a Dollar or a Dime or a handful of cash, please mention that you are contributing on behalf of me, Rian Kemp as there is a single "Just Giving" account that funnels it all to a central account. PLEASE CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEE MORE ABOUT "TOGETHER FOR SHORT LIVES" (you can navigate for more information) www.justgiving.com/fundraising/GeneralMedicineTriathlon2017Here is a screenshot of my training route and times. And the way I will be rolling on my Freecycle bike. Except not in flipflops. Thank you in advance for any support anyone chooses to give. I look forward to making a small difference.

Love it dude! Happy riding. Thanks mate. Funny how I started off not being too bothered. However, it has now become a matter of pride. I would love to kick this thing over the goal line by Friday. I had a personal goal of ยฃ250.00 when I started, however we smashed it through the 300, 400 and this weekend..... ยฃ500.00 Mark. By my optimistic wishes and dreams we as a collective may just hit ยฃ600.00 by Friday, especially if we get a few small donations. Thank you also for your contribution.

Overall this charity drive seems to have slowed down, but then today it suddenly went up a few percentage points. Still, I am quite saddened that they have not even managed to make the 50% mark with three days left before the event. What would be cool is a lottery win, in order to bump the target, but I guess that's just silly. So I will be riding the bike on Friday and keeping my fingers crossed for some more contributions to come in on my behalf. Thanks to,Steve in Romford, Essex for his contribution today. I hope this gets you some random extra customers needing bespoke cabinet making. And tonight another Steve dropped a bunch of coins in the kitty too. Mr Love and Thunder....... love-and-thunder.com/ let's hope you get some extra sales from here. And for those interested In a pretty cool PT Cruiser panel conversion....... retrorides.proboards.com/thread/166465/retrofuturism-pt-cruiser-panelvan-conversionBed time for me now, than you all for the support and encouragement. Friday is headed this way fast.

Honestly, if you think about it..... we (Members of forums I contribute to globally) started with a $15.00 donation from Florida (I also did a ยฃ20.00 cash donation when they launched this drive in January) and those who have given have all given what was right for them, and that is all one needs. Every penny in the pot is a penny they don't have to find.

Overnight it seems we have crept even closer to the ยฃ600.00 mark. Of course that poses the question......... DO WE KEEP GOING AND TRY FOR THE NEXT GOAL.....?? And what will it be. Thank you Disasterbus for the contribution. As you are a very keen cyclist, I guess the 20km ride I will be doing is small change for someone like you. But your change will make a big change for these kids. This is a good thing. Have a good day everyone. I am stuck in training all day

Long day Good lunch Too much coffee. Traffic sucked on the M25 Got in to see a few more donations You guys certainly are not making it easy for me (To pull out of this, that is) We are now clear over ยฃ600.00 and I suspect over ยฃ650.00 which translates into about $840.00-ish. A great achievement on the 4th of July. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA Stopped by at Miss Katy's place on the way home for dinner as she is exectly midway in my 100 mile drive home from Reading where I spent the last two days. Contributions from all over again and embarassed to say I do not recognise one of the names (will feel like an idiot onceI know of course) Mark Forrest.... make yourself known. Paul and the Phantom Creme Egg donor, thanks guys. You all make it worthwhile. And of course Ashley, Thanks a lot mate. Lastly maybe a relevant technological pic. Perfect to whisper into other peoples ears to let them know about this challenge. Now going to go out and cut Miss Katy's lawn, dressed in a suit. Then dinner and head out home. Suspect the cats will be shouting at me when I get in. (Yes, they have been fed, by the lodgers)

Might that be MIATAMARK above? Not him. Mark the Miata is the Cadburys Creme Egg Anonymous guy. That one I could figure out. Regardless.... I am thankful I contribute to 9 forums daily and have readers and stalkers from Russia to Sweden to Africa and Australia so it could be anyone. Still, it could be very obvious.

But it seems you have been trumped Brian, by a gurl.......... The Lycra is just so not good, and I gag at the thought, and to be honest, every time I stick my feet into those shorts, I get sick in my mouth.

Got home tonight at 21.20 from the two days training in Reading, via Katy's place where I had dinner and cut.her grass and found a small, postal parcel indoors. Contained a card, cycle themed of course, wishing me luck and some snacks for he ride, or ismthat the trip to the ride. Also a donation from Sharon who I have known since 1976 when we were in boarding school, her brother is a General or Major General in the SADF and we all used to hang around, she was a year older than us, and often used to beat us up as kids...... Still trying to make me lose my dignity, this time for money though. Thanks Sharon, but tripling the offer won't cut it. Also took this pic at 21.40 tonight, just shows what a blessed and privileged life we live. For those following the donation tally, we are almost at ยฃ650.00 now.... Let's hope some more pocket change finds its way into he collection overnight. Thanks again all for the support and encouragement.

Hey Rian, just do a photo in lycra shorts and flip flops before the big day. Nobody said you have to wear that the whole race?! How about a pic of you mowing the lawn in suit and tie? You know, no pic, it never happened. Iยดm tempted to pay some more for that pic. Not too sure its gonna happen.

Pink tutu, Lycra shorts underneath, and rubbing ointment on the sore bits after.... I think I'd have to raid the piggy bank and add some more into the pot.
Does that help?

You guys and girls have made another day end up good, no great for me. Again, my thanks sound empty, compared to the care and generosity I have seen the last few weeks. This morning a local donation came in, bringing us closer to the ยฃ700.00 mark. Thank you Sam Taylor. Hope to meet you in person some time, remember the kettle is always on over here. We also got sent the rules for the day and a map of the ride route was included. Quick quiz question for those interested in good food.. Ta2don in Searcy, Arkansas sent me a pic of his lunch earlier today. Care to identify it?? Later we had a good chat on FaceTime, with him sharing his trip out to a golf course where he was stopping in for a sales call. I do love this technology that puts us all so easily in touch with each other. Got home tonight and found an envelope with just a ยฃ10.00 note in it. Anonymous contribution from a guy called "Cars" Then my last lodger came in and added another tenner. Next up....... MercDan called me to ask for the PayPal details and sent some. Obey for the kids too. You guys all rock !!! Thank you very much !!! We have passed the ยฃ700.00 mark now, having made it to ยฃ716.00 not including the ยฃ35.00 I have contributed already. Now ยฃ750.00 is calling my name.....๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ
