I moved out to Morzine in the French Alps to ski few years ago and biking has massively taken over as my sport of preference. You just cant beat the thrill or danger of Downhill My last trials bike, binned as the frame had cracked again after a repair first steps was a Kona Entourage, super fun in the bike park but a bit to short in the wheelbase for going flat out. My last trials bike, binned as the frame had cracked again after a repair Found this in a french second hand shop for 20E, was then removed by the municipal for "parking incorrectly" on a lamp post. Dmr Sidekick all original from around 2005 i think with my Commencal BMX on a day to the Chamonix dirt jumps Specialized big hit 2 being rebuilt as well as mates onza t bird and my kona in bits for a bearing change work bike, equipped with maxxis snow grip tyres on it last winter. I think its a Raleigh shopper The only picture i can find of my current steed. An 06 Nukeproof Scalp with a set of Fox 40's. This thing can take a right beating, anything you throw it down it just laps it up. +bonus retro car content!

DaveyVery nice monty. I used to ride trials many years ago, competitively even for a short while. First proper bike I ever rode was a 221 TI if I remember correctly. Looking back at what I had, I think my first bike was a T-raptor in green, the LE version. I then got rid of that and built up a Woodstock Team Pro mod bike, very uncommon bike but rode lovely, I then swapped that build out for a Zoo! Python when they very first came out in 2004, that then got sold or something at some point, which was later replaced with a T-mag, that was a zoo! Copy, then that was replaced with a GU Tuphoon mod. In the mix there somewhere I ended up with a dual disc Revell team issue bike from a friend who used to ride for them, very nice bike I just used to hate the thought of bending discs. I used to enjoy trials riding many years ago. Zona zip, made for bashing your way up stuff. Czar i think same geometry ad the gu typhhon or echo or something? Never got finished. Monty again! Fluro tryall rims where the best! This was a very very strange Onza prototype frame that went around about 8 of my mates and me! Koxx again Another monty, very short lived this one. Reasonably well sorted t-pro Very cracked, very cheap, very dangerous t-mag My baby at the time, King hubs and everything.Sounded like a bumble bee on steroids! I also had a box framed mega early t-pro that i cannot for the life of me find pictures of.

When i posted i kinda mis-read the title but you'd be right, both of mine are 2000-2003 models. Not really classics but a classic dh bike is just a beafier non suspension mountain bike really. Very basic!

To be honest the title may be bit misleading ,but for the record I'm liking all the posts and pics so far keep em coming some nice peddlers on here Am also an old Skool bmx,er so like a broad spectrum of bikes Just kinda like the older types of dh and trial bikes that were lusted after back in the day but out of reach for most at the time Similar to the classic car scene

My old orange evo2, wore out the marzocchis so now has rigid forks and I prefer it that way, super chuckable :-) Laddo loves it too Got a Trek Fuel ex8 for bumpy stuff, but that's not retro

Love all the trials bikes on here too. I had a monty b219 until not long ago (look them up if you haven't seen one). Mainly as i loved ot pi as a kid. Also had a couple of megamos. Now i have a pretty naff da bomb 20inch but its a good cross between a trials bikes and a bmx and my pashley.
I quite fancy an onza zoot and they are dirt cheap.

They were brand new at the time i bought the Koxx, mainly because i couldn't afford one. But i agree great fun little bikes.

Probably bordering on retro for a bike now, got the frame for £5 from the tip and built the rest up with eBay bargains about 8 years ago. Did have a mid 90s hard rock I was going to restore, but it got stolen from the mother in law's garage, I suspect kids since they didn't even try to get into my Beetle that was in there too. Rides nice, got an itch for a retro bike now, to eBay!

Got a Saracen Kili Racer from the era when they made decent bikes, before Halfrauds got hold of the brand and turned them to curse word. Anyway bought as a frame only and with a few editions made into a more modern interpretation. In the beginning And completed Mainly used by my daughter now

Love the Saracen, my first 26" wheel bike was a 1996 Saracen Rufftrax in neon purple with that same pierced top tube design thing going on, I thought that was the dogs danglies as an 11 year old. I remember it had an STX groupset on it and amber wall ritchey z-max tyres Still got the frame in the loft, nice skinny tange cro-mo tubes, would love to build it up again, maybe it's a good excuse to upgrade the wheels and brakes on my wifes bike to discs so I can nab the wheels and v-brakes off it...

This is such a cool thread! Mine isn't so retro. Built in 2003 when I worked in the Halfords Bike Hut. I still use it for canal rides Azonic Evolution And my 2010 Kona Stinky Deluxe. Sadly stolen last summer
