1985 VW Golf C 1.6 Diesel
Front end damage, low speed collision, will require 1x headlamp, n/s wing, bumper, lower valance slightly kinked but salvageable, grill also salvageable (De-badged type) n/s corner of the bottom is bent down, nothing major to be truthful and the n/s hand brake cable snapped. I had a quote for £230 labour to fit new parts, paint wing, if i supplied the parts. Insurance company wasn't happy with that as the parts weren't on the quote, they did their own inspection an decided it was a total loss. They paid out the agreed price, i retained the vehicle and now its here for sale or to break i suppose?
I have no love for the car, i bought it for my sister to learn to drive in (she picked it) i went and collected it, she then decided she didn't actually like it. So i just used it as a commuter for a few months as it saved me £38 quid a week compared to my 325i. Then Christmas day, a neighbours drunk niece reversed into it.
So the car, its a 1.6 diesel, drives fine, still drives fine now, recently had a new radiator, water pump to engine block hose and brake pads (front). Few rust spots underneath, n/s sill may need some attention in the near future, body work was all nice and clean prior to the accident.
MOT till August
Coilovers (budgets nothing special)
Steering rack conversion to power steering
banded Steels 13" with 175/60 fronts and 175/70 rears
Was registered in Ireland at some point in its life (hence the plate) was brought back over around 2010 (i believe) with a new odometer and has done 25k since.
The plate has been advertised at £1k previously (not by myself and I'm not sure of the actual worth but it has no age identifier so its generally sort after)
So whats it worth? I have no idea, so I've just guessed it was worth around £1100 before the accident, minus £200 for it been in an accident, minus £230 labour, £150 for parts off ebay? so its up for sale for the grand total of, let me just get my calculator.........£520....but we'll call it £500. I think that is a fair price, if its not, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to let me know.
Will possibly break it if it struggles to sell.
Any questions please ask, probably best on 07867490566
