Any one got any bits? Used, NOS (or knackered-and-only-fit-for-pattern in case of the exhaust-manifold or exhaust itself)
I can list all the part numbers and put up pic of parts-list diagram but basically need everything. At present I only have the carbs and inlet-manifold

Well it's only taken 4 1/2 years, and multiple changes to the thread-title, but I think I now have everything I got the Imp Sport distributor. There are actually 3 types but early one 41132 is right for me. It doesn't have a cap however and I think there may be different ones as I see them on Ebay but not sure what's for early and late so would be good to get more than one, if anyone has one Sport distributor next to STD type. visually identicalJan 1967. when my car was registered

Still looking for a final few bits....
I have the Sport valves and springs but have just found out the Sport springs had cups on top. Not the collar thing that the collets sit in but a sort of cup that went over the top of them.
part number is7100452

Got a picture - I am intrigued - I have taken more than a few apart and as I recall the only thing different about the Sport is that the Valve cap / Spring retainer (collar) is different as its for the double springs. Not sure what you could be referring to regarding cups on "top" the springs.

I'll upload a pic from the parts list.
I've never seen the item and the parts list is a bit confusing but that's what it seems to show....

Ok. So I took a pic of the plate from the parts list (and the relevant parts of the pages relating to the valves etc) and isolated the valve components then had a go at clarifying it with colour-coded notes. It's actually a good way of getting it straight in your own head but, hopefully, others will be able to follow the logic. Anyway the main point is that we are familiar with item 160 710047 Cup - exhaust valve spring which sit between the (STD) exhaust-valve springs and the head - in place of the differently-shaped type that go under the (STD) inlet-valve springs but the Sport head doesn't have seals (on the inlet-valves) so presumably any cups used with the Sport springs would be the same for inlet & exhaust. The parts list does show 8 of item 164 7100452 Cup - valve spring but they have been drawn above the spring. This may be an error but the hole in the middle is larger than that on 160 (which would fit neatly round the valve-guide) and also the cup seems deeper valve parts isolated on part list drawingSTD spring-cups. 4 of one and 4 of another Sport spring-cups. 8 the same

Part 164 is a valve spring oil shield, supposed to stop oil splashing onto the valve spring area and prevent excessive oil going around the guide area.
The other part you're after is usually referred to as a spring seat washer or shim. You'd probably be better off making your own as they're used to set the static spring height. If you can find that measurement then it's easy enough to work out.

That's very interesting stealthstylz. Thanks. So far no-one (on Imp Facebook group for example) has recognised them. The consensus seems to be that it's been drawn in wrong place and should go under the springs (like 160). Personally I have no idea but it does beg the question: if 164 is a shield that goes on top, do the Sport springs sit directly on the head? They definitely don't use 157 as they have no oil-seals. Perhaps they use 160 and it has just been omitted from the parts list NB I do have spares of 160 6 x '160' at top RHS of pic

Those cups sit on the head - same positions as the cups referred to for the standard inlet and exhaust valves. stealthstylz - engine is canted at 45 degrees + valve angle - if positioned as an umbrella seal they would not protect or cover the guide - diagram just shows them in the wrong position. Plus that area is also covered by the bucket follower so would be an umbrella under a bigger umbrella. There are 8 all the same and they sit between head and spring - the difference between the sport ones 8 off and the std exhaust ones 4 off that look the same may be in material thickness.
