that looks remarkably straight under the typical shot Miami paintwork, any idea why it was there in the first place?

Hi Welshpug: i have enjoyed reading many of your posts on 205 drivers.I think an engine fault took it off the road . The inlet manifold is missing and a couple of other smaller engine parts. It's not an issue really as I have a good complete engine from when I converted my other 205. The car has only had 3 owners with one of them being the yard owner. Boot floor solid. Inner wings ok . Sills 100% solid. Original slam panel and still has "MOMY" stamp on front panel top. I need to appraised further but I'm pretty pleased with the overall condition. Paint sucks but it's very original .

Yeah, good save. Like that colour even under its algae patina. Will there be any issue getting it registered?

In the last fortnight I've probably managed to spend about 4 hours on the car in total. I've managed to uncease both doors as I was sick of climbing in through the boot. This was down to the typical rotten door handle scenario. Hoover the car out and re instate the indicator and wiper stalks. Fit a battery : after checking out the electrical side of things , after 8 years the only issues are 3 light bulbs out and the wiper motor is seized . Everything else works !!! The starter motor engages and turns the engine freely but I don't want to do too much of that until i replace the cambelt etc. I've been under the car with a wire brush / angle grinder combo to tidy things up on the beam / shocks / drums. I've trawled eBay and asked on 205 drivers for parts I was missing. Got everything I need other than injectors . Car should be MOT ready in about a months time.

Progress update... Changed cambelt /tensioner and water pump Dropped sump / checked shells and crank. Had a fight with 8+ year old oil filter Sump cleaned painted with new gasket
