So you guys once gave me some help with a door handle swap and grill design on my kadett c Its slowly coming along (second side be in primer tomorrow) It usually has bumpers and I'm not set on the wheels - they can wait Anyway you can see where the old fuel flap was, i was going to make a smooth liftable cover but I'm not feeling it Show me cool caps that could be adapted to go there Anything..... even if they protrude

Bookmarked I'm thinking about something similar for my motor and have been looking around for inspiration. Some food for thought ... the cap on a BMW E36 is opened by cable from inside the cabin, and locks when you remove the ignition key Maybe get the mechanism from a breaker and modify to suit yours? And some cool stuff - just because. OK ? 50s Chevvy 55/56 range GMC Others

Love what you've done with the grille!
The fuel cap is tricky, anything you do that keeps the original trapezoidal hole (except another trapezoidal flap) will look odd and unfinished. Something like the Newton ones (and I really DON'T like the "ring pull" ones!) would need flush fitting on a smoothed body. For my taste, I would smooth it over it entirely and make the filler inside the boot.

Personally i'd put it inside the boot, at the back. But if you don't want to go that route, how about on the rear panel like a '66 Mustang. or put it behind the rear numberplate like on a 77 Firebird.

Cannot recommend where to get them but popular with rodders & motorcycles pop-up filler cap Or continuing your oval hole theme a standard screw-in one with recesses each side (making oval) to grasp it.

New Mini? Zoom, in keeping with the MX5 Door Handles? Datsun 521? Jeep Wrangler? Defender? Racing port, for comic effect?

Be interested to see how you make the curve of the TT panel work with the flat panel on the Kadett

I probably will only use about 10mm around the recess

I was going to suggest a TT flap but didn't think it would be your bag. I like it.
