The car is on 58k miles, a fact backed up by the last 4 years of MoT readings. Current MoT until April 2017, only one advisory was due to dim rear number plate lights! The engine emissions were so clean, the MOT guy thought I had recent rebuilt the engine.
The logbook has 2 previous owners and myself.
There is next to no written history but the car was a very pampered car prior to the issue. There are Mole Valley sill guards and the cars shows how well it has been looked after, especially mechanically. The chassis is in great condition and was wax oiled recently. You really would buy this on its general condition, it really is a good car let down by the plate.
Small hole on the front edge of the driver seat but compared to most sub £15k cars, the interior is in great condition. Has a lot of lever technology aluminium stalks, hand brake etc.
Roof does not leak, rear window is still clear and not creased.
New bonnet genuine TVR badge.
I believe the car was stolen in 2002, when the car was recovered, the chasis plate had been removed and the number stamped on the front chasis had been tampered with. Due to this the age could not be exactly confirmed and it was issued a Q plate but the car was not categorised so it is HPI clear
Bad points
Tops of the front wings have loads of faint hair line scratches, I think it was from a car cover.
There is a fibreglass repair to the front wing if you look closely.
Rear tyres are Bridgestones, front are just so cheap rubbish, I was going to replace them all when the rear came up for replacement.
Some age related marks.
I have driven this car with no issues apart from the throttle cable snapping, replaced with a genuine one from RaceTech by me.
Comes with a new oil filter and oil for its next oil service.
I wasn't going to sell and don't have to but I could do with putting the rally car in the garage and don't want to sell my Alfa's (or my TVR to be fair)
I am based just outside of Peterborough.
It really is a great car, I have had a couple and this is a smooth running one. Serp engine, later T5 box, Estoril's (expensive on there own). The parts are worth more than the car.
The car has PAS, this is one of the change over period cars with the later engine, box, PAS, interior touches in the original body shape.
The TVR is in great condition and that could only have happened if it earlier life had been a very tampered one. The stainless steel sill plates are from Mole Valley but tracking the history without the original plate is difficult. .
Serviced a year ago with new plugs, coil, ign amp, new battery, New radiator and the chasis was wax oiled as well. As I said before Matt Smith (TVR specialist) has looked the chasis over (was going to race it). I also made the MoT really go over the chasis and he agreed all was good with recent protection.
The car is a later and better Serp engine with a T5 gearbox and PAS.
Car also has a good head unit with rear speakers as well as door speakers.
Fairly new alarm and immobilsher.
16" TVR Estorils, not the usual Chimp wheels.
The car has a usual TVR niggles but nothing a few hours with so blue for velco strip, carpets etc wouldn't fix.
If it was not on a Q plate, it would be 3 - 4 times the price and is better than my alot I have looked at for the price of a V6 S1 or scrappy 350 wedge.
It really is a good car
