An Imposing and Beautifully Detailed 1953 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 Ton Pick-up.
EQUIPMENT
Side steps, integrated wing mounted headlights, horizontal chrome front grille, chrome bumpers front and rear, wood and stainless steel truck bed, folding tailgate, chrome wing mirrors, three-person seating, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and battery charge gauges, oil pressure light, Push start button, wind down windows, air distribution system.
EXTERIOR
The Advanced Design series was the first major redesign post-war, and was billed as being bigger, stronger and sleeker than its predecessor. This lovely example has under gone a full restoration to a high standard. Painted in period Woodland Green, the finish boosts a deep gloss shine with just a few blemishes on the roof seams but this does not detract from what is a stunning truck. The chrome front grill gleams attracting much admiration and all bumpers and trim sections are in remarkable order. The very attractive wooden truck bed is in an excellent order as are the bed panels.
INTERIOR
A truly exceptional interior trimmed in quality Tan leather. The bench seat, headlining and door cards are in a pristine condition. The colour coded metal dash with Chevrolet chrome coverings host the essential instruments and switches, and the three spoke wood rim steering wheel is a work of art. Also fitted is an Alpine cd player with iPod connectivity with carefully mounted speakers which does not impact on the period interior. The deep pile black carpet finishes off which is beautifully appointed cabin.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with an exceptional V8 engine, the chrome enhancements such as the Holley chrome pancake air filter, Moroso chrome valve covers and chrome alternator enables bonnet up exhibiting. Fitted with a tubular side exit exhaust system to give a wonderful V8 sound. The three-speed automatic transmission with floor selector operates perfectly.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Colour coded steel wheels with Chevrolet chrome hub caps surrounded with Kumho Road Venture AT 235/85 16 tyres with white highlighted tyre markings all have ample tread. Drum brakes all-round the vehicle stops surprising well despite its size and weight.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in 1953. This stunning Pick-up truck was first imported into the UK in December 1989, with four former owners since. The previous keeper of ten years has cherished the truck, even transporting it to his holiday home in Spain before returning to the UK. A painstaking programme to create an iconic American Pick-up with show potential will delight the next customer.
