Oh, and those pop-up lights!
Just had £1200 spent on it for body repairs and a respray (September). The colour is fantastic.
Couple of points to note:
The electric ariel doesn't rise, so the radio is a bit crackly. Might be something as simple as a fuse, might be the motor itself, I just haven't been bothered by it as I just stream music from my phone.
The little plastic cover inside the driver door lock which keeps the rain out is missing. I found out that if water does get in, it sets the alarm off. So I just press a bit of blue tack over the lock. Probably wouldn't be a difficult job to get a replacement lock barrel, but that would mean another key I guess.
This is a car which really surprised me when I bought it. I had believed the hype about them from years ago, which gives most people a negative view of them. The fact is, it's only when you own one that you realise just how good these cars are, which handle well and have a fantastic 2.5 litre V6 24V Mazda engine under the bonnet. A hugely underrated car. These Mk2 Probes looked futuristic (almost concept) when they were released back in 1993, yet look dated and retro now. In my opinion of course. The value of these is starting to rise, as numbers decrease, and awareness of how good they actually are increases. This has got to be one of the best examples of these left, and my asking price reflects that.
I have seen something else I'd like, but at the same time I'm in no hurry to sell this, and if it didn't sell, I'd happily keep it. I do love it, and won't entertain silly offers. I'd like the car to go to someone who will look after it, obviously, as there are fewer and fewer of these about, and they are great cars (have I mentioned that already haha?!).
Currently taxed, so it's possible to drive away as is, but I intend to SORN it at the end of the month.
Please, no comments about it being overpriced. If you think it is, that's fine, the car's obviously not for you. If you don't think it's overpriced, you probably recognise what a good example of an appreciating modern classic this is.
Car is located near Saltburn-By-The-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
Asking Price: £2,100 (offers near the asking price welcomed)
Thanks for looking.
