Evening all,
I am going to collect a new car which, as the title suggests, is a Rover 100 for my other half.
And I was just wondering what is out there in terms of aftermarket items?
And what things have other people done with theirs.
Thanks

Make sure the body is sound. Check the front subframe for rust and also the front lower suspension arms - they are hollow pressings and rust from the inside out. Still available new. Rear MGF discs will fit the front of a R100. PCD on the R100 is the same as the Maestro/Montego/Marina/TR7 and MGF/TF. The arches aren't very big so anything over 14" will be a tight fit. You can individualise the suspension spheres and tune the suspension that way; don't just let fluid out because that knackers them up.

Am I the only one who thought of this when you asked for info on Rover 100s? Steve

You are not. Whatever they're badged as I've always thought of the 'other' Rover 100 as a Metro.

they have a fair bit of potential however you have to be creative there is very little available Mod Wise off the shelf lows nice paint job and some pinstriping would suit, engine wise RR 4.6 V8? or a 5.0 V8 from a tvr ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) If It's the Metro then, try get a GTA GTi watch for rust and wiring problems a good one can handle pretty well,

They only really look any good with wide 13s and arches. To drop the K-series in rover widened the front track and fitted heavily inset wheels preventing the use of decent dish wheels without arches. This is why 99% of them look curse word.
One of the easy way to achive this is by redrilling the hubs to 4x4" to take the wide rang of mini wheels that are out there. 4x3.75 rims are harder to come by.
Engine wise there's plenty you can do with the K-series vvc, turbo etc. You cab fit pg1 box too.
Metropower is a big community but don't expect many members to know what they are doing lol. Still some decent info on there if you can filter out the dross.

Awesome cheers guys, definitely going to give metro power a look but won't take everything they say as gospel by the sounds of it 😂 I wish it was one of the old 100's by alas it's the one of the metro 100's. My other half wanted one so she could learn some mechanics and a full body respray.
