I've been a fan of Nightbreaker bulbs and even recommended them on here, however of 4 bulbs I've fitted in the last 18 months or so 2 have blown. Now they might be fake bulbs but they seemed to be a reputable source.
What recommendations are there for similar bulbs?

Phillips Silverstars are meant to be good.
That said, I have generally found Osram to be pretty good.
Is this in your MX-5 or the Alfa? I know my 147 lights were a pain to put the covers on and would let water in which could be your other reason.

I've had the same Osram Silverstar in the Herald since 2008 and they're bloody bright. My experience of Nightbreakers is the same as yours.
