1997 mazda mx5 1.8 Non PAS, standard open diff, 130bhp, 2 seat convertible finished in Neo green (British Racing Green) with charcoal plush velour sports interior. the soft top is in great condition, no leaks etc! mot until july 11th 2017 with not 1 advisory note issued! the spare wheel and the contents of the boot look untouched as new, factory upgraded boot spoiler, quite literally if this car had 20k on the clock you would would have no doubt in believing it! this is definitely a collectors item, leather tonneau cover for the roof when down, mx5 chrome door kick plates, chrome door handles, the car has recently been professionally under-sealed with receipt, new suspension parts brakes etc...all with receipts, service receipts bills upto date, the car has had a full professional respray in march 2015 with a full detailed invoice for £1600 so as you can imagine the car really is stunning, only one very small bubble on the drivers side rear arch. The sills are solid. Only 110k miles, well below average.
Just had a new battery with 3 year warranty and a new clutch slave cylinder.
One thing worth mentioning is the key fob arms and unarms the alarm and immobilser but doesn't unlock the doors, I have no idea why it does this as it did this before i bought the car, I just use the key to manually lock and unlock the doors and press the fob to arm the alarm.
these uk mk1 mx5s are getting very far and few between so value can only rise, it drives really well and is a lot of fun, handles really well, is very responsive and cheap to run, the car has had new head gasket timing belt water pump spark plugs etc basically a top end rebuild not because of any fault but just due to age and miles again with full receipt for near £800 work done just before the respray, predator alarm system fitted with certificate of approval for insurance, full mot history printout with warranted mileage and a signed certificate to certify! 3 original mazda keys! thousands spent to make this car what it is it runs and drives without fault its a real pleasure! any inspection is more than welcome aa rac etc
Currently on standard style daisy wheels without centre caps with winter tyres on (excellent tread and perfect for winter use) but can also include another set of standard wheels with centre caps and summer tyres if asking price is met.
I'm asking 1595, the car owes me a lot more but i need something a bit more practical sadly.
Location Barnsley South Yorkshire, right next to m1.
Test drives and inspections welcome. Any question please ask, cheers, Tom
