Hi...Mods please move ( or remove! ) this thread if you think it is not suitable etc...thanks
Right onto business.... I currently do PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) as a second job, with the aim to get enough regular work to make it my sole job in the future..... I am in Essex (SS6) .. 99% of my current work has been on modern and relativly modern cars (2000 onwards) ...I am thinking of trying some earlier stuff but the metal and paint on most early stuff is completely different to late stuff so there will be limitations as to what can be repaired or improved.
SOOO..here's the deal..if someone has some minor damage on their early car, with NO paint damage....and is prepared to bring it to me then I will use their car as a bit of practice and they MAY get their dent repaired for FREE.
As a case in question, I recently done all 4 doors, front wing, and bonnet ( which all had minor carpark type door dings) on a 80s 5 series BMW which saved the customer a full respray and kept his original paint... but old BMWs do tend to have nice metal and paint..so I don't expect all older cars to be that suitable for PDR.
There are a thousand and one "BUTS" to this, the main ones are no major damage, no deep or sharp dents ( small does not mean fixable, if some shot your car with a pellet gun, it aint likely going to be repairable on old metal/paint ) ..there is a real chance that your paint may not survive....any filler in or near the damage is a no no ... I will need a waiver signed incase of any damage caused...the list continues :-)
Please don't ask me to do your late model car for free..I charge proper money for real work :-) ..I am just doing this as some practice on early stuff with a view to charging proper money for it in the future.
My wife is literally days/hours away from giving birth so this may not be available for a few week, unless jnr stays comfortable inside for a while yet.
A lot of things to put you off I know ..but it may be suitable for someone local who is prepared to take a chance to save their car going into a paint shop.
P.S. PLEASE don't let a SMART repair type company do any PDR on your cars.... good PDR companys are hard to find...its not an easy job to do right..or anywhere near right! :-)
Please drop me a PM msg on here if your interested with an idea of what you have and we can chat :-)
Thanks
Dave
