Found these in a box years ago and forgot about them! No-one seems to recognise them? Come with a black leather case, wondered if they were a 'freebie' when you purchased 200 litres of castrol GTX or 6 boxes of Duracell batteries costing £20 per box??? (or just 3 litres of Paraffin from Esso Blue? ) Anyway, any ideas guy's?

Haha!! I've got a couple of pairs of DeWalt safety specs and the frame/lens design looks similar to them. Having said that, the mounting "hooks" look a bit like the military issue ballistic sunnies I was wearing in Afghan a couple of years ago.
Erm... the "Ford Duo-specs" label suggests they might have come from Ford? :-D Maybe a manufacturer's 'gimme' like branded key-fobs, wallets and all that sort of tat?

That's a good point! However, I am surprised that no-one has come up with a def' answer? I am convinced they must have been a promotional 'thing' but when? I reckon possibly 80's?

:-) sorry I was being a bit facetious ;-)
The style of the printing on the front of the label looks 80s/90s, but that's not a strong indicator on its own esp as Ford do like retro styling.
I would have said that the interchangeable lens design was later than that, and I can't recall seeing anything like that on the market before about - oh, 2005ish-ish-ish?
I take it the plastic is all in good condition and doesn't feel as if it's gone brittle with age? If they've been in a box in the dark, they won't have had exposure to UV so shouldn't have "aged" badly. In the photos the yellow (presumably the night-time lenses) look quite 'flat' and almost opaque, I assume that's just an effect of the photograph?
Any clues to when you might have acquired them - following purchase of a Ford (either you or close family)? Job lot from a car boot sale? Random drunken late-night eBay shopping? What else was in the same hiding-place and any clues as to when the box might have landed there?

Haha! the night lenses I think are totally naff1 I tried wearing them, but my nan sprayed fly killer at me when I frightened her in the kitchen late last night! she said I resembled a Bug! (bloody big bug!) They were stored in a box from years ago by my girlfriend, the black lenses and the frames are perfect, been in the box the whole time, not certain as to why the other lenses became discolored?
As you said, 'never seen another pair like these?' what i will do is when my mk2 Escort is finished..................... yep! that's the uncomfortable silence before I roll about laughing! I have the intention of sticking them on the dash when (here we go again).................... i take it to the odd car show
Thanks again.

Love it - fly killer!!!
I play cricket and in evening league games (in failing light) yellow lenses can actually work really well. Maybe not those ones, though... :-)
Good luck - sorry I can't be more help!!
