It's time to sell my Scorpio,
I've owned the car since February this year and have spent loads on it. When I bought the car it had been off the road for the best part of 4 years so I replaced all the tyres as they had cracked. The flexible brake hoses were also replaced as they had cracks. The car ran but needed a new battery, all the service items changing and a new radiator.
At this point it was ready for an mot. On the way there it was obvious that there was a problem with the speedometer not working. The vehicle speed sensor was replaced and the wiring checked and this fixed the speedo and the gearbox started to work properly.
The windscreen cracked on the way to the mot but they passed it as its not in the "fail" area. Unfortunately I bought cheap tpft insurance and it doesn't cover wind screens. I have got one quote from national wind screens but at £315 I'd suggest the new owner gets fully comp and makes a claim.
There's also a stone chip in the middle of the passenger side now (as of 17.11.16)
I've tried to take pictures of all the worst bits, hopefully you can see the paint on the bonnet, roof and boot is crazed. If the body work was fixed it would be a great example.
The car was undersealed by the previous owner and there is overspray all over the car. Some one who knows body work would make this into a brillant example. Mechanically it is great and I love how it drives.
The key fobs I have both work, but they are temperamental. Out of the two keys I have only the red one seems to work, not sure why the black one doesn't but I've always just used the red one.
The drivers seat doesn't move forward or backward, I have a spare seat base but never swapped it as I don't need to move the seat
I've never opened the sunroof in case it breaks and I can't shut it again. They are known to fail and I haven't fancied trying it.
The car has had alot of money spent on it since I bought it last year
