A lot of this going on lately, a mate nearly got stung on Shpock the other week.
There's someone on there that keeps listing loads of cars under different user names and using pictures and descriptions from eBay ads and pricing them way under value to attract people.
It looks fully legit with address's and phone numbers etc. My mate rang him about a cheap merc sprinter he was "selling" the chap told him he was having a lot of interest but a deposit over the phone would secure it. My mate was a bit suspicious so just told him he would bank transfer it straight away just to get off the phone. He even gave my mate an address to view/collect the van which turned out to be fake.
Literally just after my mate put the phone down he decided to ring this chap again off his mrs'a phone and pretended to be someone different interested in the van. Guess what? Even though the chap thought my mate was currently sending him a deposit from the first call he also told him in the second call (who he thought was someone different) that a deposit would secure the van.
