I thought I would offer this for sale on here before at a reduced price before it goes up on eBay. The vehicle will be ready to view as of this Sunday 20th November. More photos will be posted on Saturday 19th.
It is after a huge amount of thought that I have decided to sell my 1992 T4 Transporter project. It simply consumes too much space along with too much of my time and in all honesty, I am more interested in working on my Porsche at the minute instead and it seems a total shame for this to go to waste.
The vital details
1992 VW T4 Transporter LWB
2.0 petrol
5 speed box
MOT 15th December 2016
WV2 chassis code
V5 Pressent and correct
Factory supplied Crew van
133,000
Barn door
A Few More Details
This van is a project but does have a valid Mot and was in use until I got it but it must be regarded as a project.
This is the sought after WV2 chassis code, this means that it was supplied by VW as a crew van so the rear seats are legal and not a home made bodge up. Ideal for a day van.
The van has electric window on the passengers side but not the drivers, all look, plugs and switches seem there so an electric mech should do the job.
The body work on this is very poor, the van is half painted, one side is, one side isn't. It has a lot of dents and dings with many battle scars filleted over poorly.
Front tyres need replacing but replacements are supplied. Will have them fitted if I get the change.
New starter motor fitted and a new I let manifold fitted, £350 for the manifold alone.
This engine is the 2.0 petrol 4 cylinder, this is the same as a 2.0 8V golf (Mk3 I think) so parts are readily avalible.
Temp gauge doesn't work but this is a common T4 fault. All other gauges work as they should.
Van seems to struggle to idle, it was fine but after being laid up it seems a bit lump. This is something that may drive out and may be a fault developed from lack of use.
This van seems to have no rust in the common places, sills are solid, floors seem good as well unlike some.
There are many damaged or missing interior trims.
Captain seats up front with swivel bases.
Looking through my papers i cant seem to find the latest MOT certificate however the mot status can be checked online.
Overall
A very tatty T4 that runs with MOT. Very poor body work and interior but drives, stops, turns and does what it's supposed to. This could be a very cheap way into a T4 which seem to be going crazy at the moment.
Please do not turn up expecting a mint van. It's very rough. The paint work is poor and it is advertised as a project. Please remember only one side is painted.
Please note, front bumper is included but not photoed
Price
I really could do with the space and I have located something new that takes my fancy so I am dropping the price.
£800
At this price I can not take any offers.
In regards to P/X cash is king but I could always be tempted, I am after a MINI, one of the new ones. Or another cheap daily hack about.
Location
ME8 area of Kent. I can not deliver nor can I arrange it. Currently, the van can be taxed and driven home if you're brave. I will endeavour to help with recovery where possible in regards to waiting about at home and loading the thing on a truck if needed.
