1993 190e LE 2.0 Auto
I only have the new keeper supplement of the V5 (one in my name due any day) so can't confirm previous owners.
Last owner 10 years plus!
Partially stamped service book, some history since including a head rebuild, lots of old tax discs, mots, receipts. All handbooks/owners manuals.
141K
12 Months MOT
Prior to the MOT I basically did all the jobs on the last MOT's advisory. disks/pads/hoses at the front. hoses and pads at the back. a pair of front tyres and a couple other bits and pieces. I fixed all the electric windows (combination of switches/motors/regulators) and also got the vast majority of the dashboard lights working. huge cleaning session inside and out. also serviced the gearbox with a full fluid change (including torque convertor) and filter. This cured the gearbox fault and the car drives great. Lovely and smooth and really quiet.
Body
Finished in Azure Blue one of the LE colours. Paint is in pretty good condition for its age/mileage although it does have a couple of minor spots/marks that are visible upon closer inspection. The worst of these are a poor repair to a small scuff under the rear door on the passengers side, not hugely noticeable unless in the right light.
Generally, the car cleans up beautifully and draws attention (the right kind!). Glass is all good and clear all round. As above, there are a few minor scuffs and scratches that you would expect to find on a car of this age but overall it’s in very clean condition! Underside and chassis are in very good condition with one jacking point already having a repair and the other three in great original condition.
Interior
Contrasting grey cloth trim in pretty good condition throughout. Wood capping to centre console a little tired. Original radio/tape player but it doesn't seem to work. Seats are firm, have no rips, no holes, no major stains or damage and the driver's seat bolster hasn't worn through. Door cards are all in wonderful condition (aside from the passengers rear which has started to blow and been poorly repaired), as is the dash and centre console. Boot carpet has small staining. Parcel shelf is clean and in great condition with first aid kit in place.
Engine & Gearbox
Starts and idles well with appropriate oil pressure . Warm/hot starts no problem. No weird noises, rattles or major leaks (a little weeping from the rocker cover perhaps..) Auto box now works and changes nicely through the gears making for a comfortable cruiser.
In short, this 190e is in very clean and presentable condition throughout. I would summarise to say:
Good:
Fresh MOT with no advisories
recent work to brakes
Lots of history/receipts/old MOT’s
Desirable colour/trim as an LE model
Good clean condition throughout
Bad:
Don't think the stereo works but the electric aerial does go up and down occasionaly
Slight rattle from exhaust when in drive and stationary, goes the instant you move - heat-shield?
Engine bays a little grubby and the engine would benefit from a decent service - its been sat a while and I only insured it for a week to make sure it all worked ok...
Couple interior niggles to sort - sun visor, couple marks to carpet, wood to console..
Wheels need a refurb to be mint
My plan was to finish off the last of the niggles, drive it through to spring and sell it for top money. But, I need this other car (a w115!) so change of plan hence it still having a few bits left to sort and it being a lot cheaper than I had planned.
£1750 ONO
price drop to £1250. Really need this gone.....
Car is in Worthing, West Sussex and viewing is possible most days. Give me a call if you need to know more – Steve – 07856 295 058
