	Right chaps, a quick question. I currently use a "Stoplock", but have read on here that baddies use them as a lever to break the column lock and then just take it off. So now I am looking for an alternative. Is the Stoplock Pro realy much better? Online reviews seem to think so. I know the Disklok is said to be the best but in actual real life it looks like a real pain to fit/store. I know having my pride and joy stolen would be more of a pain, but it's massive and the car in question is a pick up so short of the footwell or crashing around in the bed I wouldn't be able to put it anywhere.... It has other security measures on it, this is just added with the bonus of being a visual deterrent. So- do I carry on using the Stoplock or junk it and get a Stoplock Pro? Bolt a clasp through the floor and padlock a chain through the wheel (although they could still remove or cut the wheel)? Opinions please. Thanks

	If they really want to steal it they'll find a way no matter how good your security. I guess for most of us anti theft devices are about making the lazy joy riders go away and steal something easier. One of my cars doesn't even lock so if I have to leave it somewhere dodgy I take the dizzy rotor out.

	It's really just a visual deterrent, having one at all is probably good enough. Even if it didn't lock, you just want the prospective thief to see it through the window and move on to the next car. Personally I don't use any such devices though, so take what you will from that.

	I have a lock that sits (hooks) inside the wheel, last time somone tried to steal my P100 the used it to snap the steering lock then just hacksawed through the wheel (very soft metal core ! ) and chucked it on the passenger floor, only the hidden starter cut off switch saved the old girl that time ! deterent for the day to day moron? yes, actually work? no, I used to use the current one with a handbrake lock but one time they unscrewed the grarknob and stole the handbrake lock LOL, 3 times my P100's been attempted and evey time the hidden starter kill switch is all that saved it, guess what i fit to ALL my vehicals, yep a hidden switch to stop the starter and if it's a diesel another one to the stop solenoid so it can't be push started, in fact when my recovery truck was stolen that 2nd switch ment i found it half a mile away cos they tried to tow start it and failed, that time again the sawed through the steering wheel and stole the billy bat (baseball looking steering wheel lock) cos i spose they thought it looked cool. Ah the joys of living in London

	I got a disklock second hand for £20. It just lives on the back seat or rear footwell when I'm not using it.

	I had a detachable steering wheel once. It was best for giving people a lift and when they jump in, I would go "what the hell, someone's nicked the steering wheel". If you like a wind up, that's good choice. Might be a deterrent, mine never got stolen at least. Except for the steering wheel...
