Dear All,
I wanted to put this out there as a basic add in case this floats anyone's boat and I don't have to do a full on anal add.
So as the above suggests. I bought the above car as a station car approximately 4 years ago. Car had good service history but was in need of some mechanical love.
So off the top of my head and I do have significant expenditure receipts. I had AMG Brakes and Pads all round, Michelin Sport Continental Tyres all round, 16 spark plugs, Oil + Filter Service and Transmission Fluid change. Now this might not sound like it is a lot but it was about £2700 all in. The car had around 97k on the clock at that point and now has just under 103k. I also then had the oil changed after 2 years and arguably it is due again.
I think it is fair to say I have not got my £2700 back that was invested and someone else will greatly benefit from what has been a completely reliable car for me. Heated Seats work has a period Blaupunkt New Yorker Stereo which includes an ancient SatNav. Runs beautifully and returns 30mpg on a run.
The Bad bits now. They are all cosmetic. Front wings are rusted through and rear arches need a repair, Alloys will need a refurb ( Go have a look what a set of 18 inch monoblocks is worth with decent tyres). There is also a small crack to the bumper.
The only thing I have ever had a problem with is having a flat battery as I just don't use the care enough.
Obviously will post up photos and start to upgrade my add but if anyone would like to see the car and make an offer in the interim I am all ears. It is a sad day to let her go but I upgraded and so needs must.
I am a genuine enthusiast who doesn't mess around with maintenance so you really are getting a great car imo. All the mercs you see of this era have rust that has been fixed and are up for 5 grand. If you were that way inclined I think that 2k on the cosmetics will give you something a bit special and still come under the 5k mentioned. All the best, Bruce
