A combination of unfortunate circumstances, poor decisions, other ongoing projects, and a lack of interest have led me to put what I have left of my MX5 up for sale.
It's a 1995 UK car that came with the 1.8 engine. I bought it a couple of years ago with no MOT on it, and shortly after it received a mediocre job of two new rear arches and a thorough going over. That got it through an MOT without issue and I drove it daily up until August last year, at which point I was intending to turbocharge it. That never happened and I lost my unit space; the car has sat in the lockup it now resides in ever since. My time is now invested in other things and realistically doing anything with it is a long way off.
The shell is very solid apart from the superficial surface rust here and there, and as mentioned above it has had a rear quarter repair on both sides. Being stored like it has been, it does have a few dinks/scratches here and there. The fuel tank is still in there as well as the majority of the wiring and the dash. The mileage on it is around 110'000. The logbook is present as well as a reasonable amount of history.
What's left:
Shell
Gearbox
Differential
Driveshafts
Radiator
Powerplant Frame
Spacesaver
Doors
Bonnet
Bootlid
Front Wings
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper
Exhaust Manifold and Downpipe
Front Strut Brace
Some Callipers
I'm asking £100 for everything listed above, and I want it all gone in one go without hassle. I'm aware I could get more back selling it all off separately but I just need the thing gone. It'd make a very suitable and cheap base for a race car.
The car is based in Kingsclere. It is on a wooden trolley that was made in a bit of a rush, and as a result a couple of the castor wheels have collapsed. Three of us managed to move it in and out of a trailer without a winch, but I can assure you it would've been an awful lot easier with a winch, so please bare that in mind.
