'88 Mk2 Golf 1.9 MTDi 5dr GL

I have spent over £1000 sorting this mk2 out after it had been sat up and got damp. New interior, 1.9 TDi engine from a passat, new driveshafts, window seals, big brakes, small rust spots repaired (very clean sills/chassis) new brake flexis, various bits of trim/buttons replaced, central locking kit etc etc and it has been flawless for me since the rebuild.
Good points
- 1Z TDi engine with MTDI fuel pump conversion, standard FMIC & standard turbo.
- Mk4 golf 02J tower conversion (cable gear change)
- GTI 256mm front brakes
- 14” banded steels, 8j fronts with 3mm tread, 9j rears with 6mm tread.
- Corrado pedal box conversion (hydraulic clutch)
- 7 slat single headlight grille
- Chrome trim all round (bumper trim faded)
- Clean Type 19 seats and door cards
- Polo sun visors
- Central locking on all doors (boot separate)
- Vibe front speakers
- GTI rear lights
- Headlining in great condition
- Very clean underneath
Bad points
- Small crack in corner of windscreen
- No rubber seals on plastic rain gutters
- Paint faded in places
- Central locking intermittent on one door
- Rev counter not wired in to TDi engine
- Plastic shroud not fitted around steering column, but included.
- Two dents, one on front wing and one under bootlid (both pictured)
Extras that will be thrown in with the sale
- PAS setup
- Spare door handles, mk3 style, chrome repro's etc.
- Clean boot carpet
- Boxes full of interior spares, clips, vents, switches etc.
- Slimline fan (never fitted as it never gets hot, even sat in traffic)
