Evening guys, got a cracking 5 for sale today. Only 1 of 800 made, so own a piece of rare Mazda treasure! A sight that you don't see often, a Sunburst Yellow NA8C!
This Yellow bumble-bee is an official J Limited II - it is a very limited run off model of MX5s where only 800 were built in 1.8 form. The differences between normal 5s and this one was mainly the unique paint job from factory, Notice the windscreen surround is also black, it hasn't been vinyl wrapped, the 2nd version J Limited came with this option. She is a completely standard car, apart from an ItalVolanti steering wheel, colour co-ordinated with the car.
Onto the cars history...
This lovely example of a 5 got imported from Japan and registered in Truro, Cornwall in the UK. After only 3 owners it found its way into my hands and its still going strong. Its getting harder and harder to find an unmolested Roadster and its near impossible to find an unmolested J Limited!
The engine feels sweet as a nut, the 1.8 engine revs freely, and pulls brilliantly. It sits at standard height so you get a comedy value going through the bends "cough" apexs "cough".
The cabin area is pretty standard, even have the original double din stereo with cassette tape! The only upgrade is the ItalVolanti steering wheel as mentioned earlier, other than that, the seats have little to no bolster wear, the dash has no cracks and the carpet has no heel burn marks. You've got the cabin brace of course, a lovely feature, adds rigidity to the cars centre point.
Soft top is in great condition, plastic window zips out and gives you the bikini roof style experience if you wish, a lovely breeze with it folded down. Thoroughly a nice car to cruise down the beach with or drive daily. When the sun it out, the car looks absolutely fantastic - you get to stand far out of the crowd with the bright paint. Cars of the 00's era are like the age of beige, so sticking to the classics is a brilliant alternative. A lovely additional splitter, a genuine Mazda feature, adds more depth to the front end and fair to say looks a ton better than the typical Garage Vary style ones.
The car is in pretty good condition overall in terms of rust, there are signs of lacquer peel on the door, under the rubber window seal, its about 5cm round, the front wing is slightly faded at the top, i can only imagine it was exposed to a fair bit of sun in Japan, and here in the UK.
Rustwise, the drivers side rear arch 'lip' has started bubbling. Its very unfortunate but its been said it was like that for ages and hasn't developed since.
All in all, it's one low mileage car for a new owner to cherish. Whoever takes it will have no regrets! With a bit of work you will have an appreciating classic and being a yellow special edition you can only imagine how sought after it will be. They're sought after now!
Any interest pm me, or comment below. No silly comments please, I've mentioned as much as I can.
£3250 however open to offers. No swaps unfortunately.
Can pick anyone up from local bus/train stations or airports.
Enjoy the photos.
