From cold before work and then when stood all day after work. Keeps cranking then finally with foot on throttle it goes after maybe 30 seconds of cranking.
I want to sort it before it gets any colder, any ideas?

Sounds like an injector too me. Does it run okay once started? Can you do a leak off test or get someone to? Glow plugs can cause an issue too but not normally so bad.

Sounds like an airleak, allowing diesel to run back to the tank.

you know to turn your ignition on, let the glows plugs relay click then turn the ignition off and then let them click again and then start the car to find out if its a glow plug issue?

will just double warm the chambers up before you fire up. Seemed to work. Still took a little cranking. The mornin will be the test. Is that indicating glow plugs need doing then?

warming the chambers up will help with whatever the problem is but it could also indicate that your plugs might be on their way out. what mileage do you have on the car?
you can test your plugs wih a volt/amp meter though its just as likely to be a leaky or defective injector too

Maybe a two pound size patch on the floor when it's been parked up.
