Bought this last week for a decent price with only 22k on the clock. Car hasn't been used much in the last 10 years, averaging less than 50 miles per year. The car itself is in excellent condition, there is a couple of rust spots on the doors but nothing major. The engine is a 1275cc A series on an automatic gearbox, this may change in the future but I quite like the auto. More pictures to follow.

Thanks for the comments. Exterior mods I'm going to keep to a minimum, probably just wheels and get it sitting a little lower.

Quick Update
Serviced the engine today in an attempt to get it running better. I found out there was no oil in the carb dashpot, this has made a huge difference to how the car pulls away. I didn't get many pictures but I took one of the spark plugs. They were in decent condition and black from the engine being run on the choke. I also removed all of the stickers from the car as they were peeling off anyway. This took longer than I had anticipated and the residue still needs to be removed. I have quite a bit of work to do on it over the next few days, so expect some more updates.

RUST!I've done some more work on the car today, one of the jobs I did was to take the front bumper off. There were a couple of rust patches but nothing major once I had attacked them with the wire wheel. This is on the driver's side wing. This is the lower part of the front valance, a common area of rust on Metros. Once attacked with the wire wheel, this is what I was left with. It's not too bad and should be easily repairable with the welder. This is what happened to the front valance. There are a couple of patches along the bottom but nothing serious.

UpdateManaged to get the stickers off as they were peeling off anyway. Sticker residue was quite hard to get off, it took me a few hours. Front end currently looks like this with the valance ground back ready for repairs. That's it at the moment, onto the welding next.

Good to see some Metros being looked after rather than broken for Mini parts. I had a facelift MG Metro for about six years and loved it. Unfortunately it rotted like mad. Plenty of underseal needed to keep yours looking good it you're going to use it everyday. I always liked then with 12 inch Minilites in fact a guy on a local car forum has tidied up a 1.0 liter City nad ended up with the minilites. Had a good nosey at it at a local car show and it looked fantastic. Best of luck with it.

The front valance is prepped and ready to be welded so it should be finished soon. I'll only be using the car for weekends and shows so it will only get used in good weather.

Love it. We had a Mk1 Metro - 1.0 City - fantastic machine. ) = 1982 "Y" reg. It followed my "several " Minis - including an automatic, I loved that car! Tundra green, I sprayed the wheels various fluorescent shades as I kept losing it due to the rather "blend into the background" colour"! Happy days...
