	Hi all. I'm back after a two year break from retro ownership, here is my Capri 1.6 Laser. First registered in north devon, 44,000 miles and I'm only the 5th owner. At the show when we first saw her. 	Looks cleaannn, I think I've seen it on Capri World FB page? I have an almost identical shot of my Capri on the way back from Classic Ford last year.

	So I decided the front had too much red going on so I fitted a black grille I had and bought some black headlight bezels. Just need the last little piece of trim along the bonnet to finish off.

	Since I bought the car one of the jobs I've been meaning to do was clean out the expansion tank. So today I did that, flushed the cooling system and filled up with fresh coolant. It was propper brown! While the bottle was out I got busy cleaning. The paint in the engine bay is soo good! The finished expansion bottle.

	That looks an exceptional example. I assume its been restored or at least resprayed looking at just how tidy it appears?. The black grille and bezels make for a real improvement up front. Little jobs like cleaning that expansion bottle up all go towards making the car so much better. Well done you and the other half for having such great condition Capris.

	well smother my danglies in marmite and call me Julia....who ever thought I would get all lusty for a capri...let alone a 1600 ......that is stunning! you must be chuffed to little teddies with it? whole heartedly condone loosing the colour coded grill , a half ased marketing idea to modernise the old girl back I the day....yuk!!

	It's had the sides done but the bonnet, roof, boot and engine bay are original paint.

	You can always just respray the trim, also with the grill and bezels. Would save a fair few quid, especially as the trims can be expensive.

	Really like your Capri and it's nice to see a 1600 as most interest is for the bigger engined ones. My uncle had a 1600ls which I spent many a happy hour in was the first time I travelled at 100 mph. 4 speed box too. Good luck with it keep us posted.

	Minor update/step backwards if you like. Today I've gone back to the colour coded grille and headlamp bezels, everytime I looked at it I felt it taken some of its identity away by loosing the coloured front as it's a laser feature.
