Hi folks, time to sell My Merc. three former keepers before me, the last one was my dad, the 2nd owner had it from a couple yrs old prior to that iirc.
It has MOT till Feb next year and obviously no tax under new rules although it is taxed at present.
153k miles, engine and box are sweet enough, panzer tank performance in both speed (or lack of) and noise from the 6 pot truck engine. I get low 30's MPG around town and you could probably run it on chip fat although I never have. "o" rings that can leak in the top of the fuel pump have all been replaced since I've had it. Last oil change @151k
Bodywork is tatty in places, front wings are knackered and has some lacquer peel near the sunroof and on top of one of the rear quarters (see pics), This said she still looks presentable from a distance when clean.
The interior is in pretty good shape. no rips in the grey leather.
Good tyres all round, I also have the standard alloys to go with the car which are wearing winter tyres at present.
Bad bits
NSF window reg is kaput, motor works but i'm guessing the teeth are gone on the regulator.
Rear headrest drop doesn't work. I know the vac pipe for this is broken and can point you in the right directions to get this sorted if its an issue. Its a bit of a useless gimmick imo.
It has recently developed a brake judder, just before this I was already considering a change of car and next thing I know I'd bought a P38 rangey so my enthusiasm for the merc and its judder took a back burner and it has gone undiagnosed. under light brake pressure the issue isn't apparent its almost as you pass a point on the brake pedal that you get a knocking back thru the pedal (not abs this works as it should) and a feint audible rumble thru the car. I have a hunch it is the rear pads/discs at fault.
It is still driveable as is and I have used it with this issue, Although for the purposes of this sale it will be sold as "spares or repairs" and will be stated on the receipt.
This old girl is at a stage in her life where its either a cheap old skool run around and a good winter hack to be used and abused until the bodywork gives up(i doubt the drivetrain ever will), or If you were in a position to sort the bodywork properly this could still be a very presentable W124 diesel.
Pic say a thousand words..............
