1972 Series 3 Land Rover 109
Tax Exempt
12 Months MOT
19400 miles
Originally a van, the back now has sliding windows and 2 aftermarket seats which are removable and on runners, they're really versatile.
Perkins Prima 2 litre turbo diesel fitted, don't know the mileage but it's a good unit, pulls strong. Had a new head gasket around 2000 miles ago.
Has the brake setup from a 6 cylinder 109, so the wider shoes in the front and servo assisted. The brakes have just had an overhaul for the MOT, with new cylinders, shoes, flexi pipes, master cylinder and servo fitted in the front.
The body and back have been recently repainted by myself, the blue isn't a factory colour but I think it does look rather good, also comes with a few litres spare of the blue and the cream on the back.
AVM freewheeling hubs fitted.
O/S Swivel recently rebuilt.
Chassis is solid, just had a new O/S rear spring hanger for the MOT, been patched before in several places, but all solid and to a reasonable standard.
Front door tops rebuilt recently with new window channels.
New rear axles seals less than 100 miles ago.
Re-cored radiator less than 1000 miles ago.
Bad points:
New heater valve (which will be included) needs plumbing in, hasn't had a functioning heater since I've owned it.
All in this is a good solid workhorse of a car, which with a little tidying up around the edges would make a really nice usable tax exempt Land Rover.
In my signature there is a thread covering some of the car's time with me, it's worth pointing out a couple of things from that as some of the stuff written in there turned out not to be true. When it blew the HG, it did hydraulic but didn't break anything I completely panicked, checked over everything very thoroughly when I did the HG and found no damage to component other than the gasket itself. Turns out it was originally a 4cyl car, not a 6cyl as I had thought, the brakes were 6 cyl which was what confused me.
£4000 ONO
